I don’t wear Marine gear because I don’t want to get punched lol.
I thought the Blue Angels were a safe bet because they sell their merch at their shows.
“No, I just like the hat” has been what I have been saying every time.
Maybe what I don’t like about it is the fact that wearing it invites...
The leather jacket rabbit hole… until discover a deck jacket and peacoat, and realize you can look amazing and be able to wear it in a thunderstorm without ruining it.
A leather jacket is like the first girl you fall in love with, you high school sweetheart. Your first. Nothing comes to the...
[Oops, I found another thread similar to this after I posted, sorry, hopefully a mod can merge them or something]
I found some cheap second hand Mr. Freedom jackets, they say they are size 40 Large and according to their site they are my size.
I’m usually a 19.5 in the shoulders, and my chest...
Stencils have been discussed a lot on here, particularly the USN and ARMY stencils. I’m starting to understand why they get so much hate. When I entered into this hobby, I had the mindset of oh, military stencils are just a fun Easter Egg, nobody’s going to actually notice or care. Nonetheless...
Nothing beats trying on a jacket in person before buying them. G-1 can be worn seasonally, B-3 is only a winter jacket. TL;DR: you’re making the right choice imo.
P.S. While I may have exotic taste in jackets and knitwear, my blue-jean wardrobe is probably the same as every other regular American man's.
I have two denim pullovers, one from RMC and one from Buzz Ricksons. I have never washed either of those; I’m afraid too, lol.
It depends on the pair of jeans; since they are all Levi’s and Wranglers, I would say I wash them after every other, every two wears. And yes I do roll in the mud with them lol.
When it comes to my Sugar Cane denim jacket, that I have only washed twice: once to shrink it to the right size and...
Yeah, it smells fine, and there are no stains. I also have a knitwear mist from N.Peal, which I can use if I want to freshen it up. The Hanes T-shirts I wear must do a good job of protecting the sweater.
Yes, when I started getting into higher quality clothes, I used to wash everything after every wear, but as I have learned more about clothing, I’ve started to lean into it. It ain’t broke, don’t fix it. I have less laundry to do the nicer my clothes have gotten. I wash my T-shirts, socks...
I know this is an old thread, but if anyone is still torn between these two, I think I like the Iron Heart better. I’ve seen both and own the Ironheart. The fact that Real McCoys doesn’t line their handwarmer pockets, while the Ironheart does, and the lining is so soft, was one of the deciding...
How often do you wash your merino or cashmere sweaters? I swear I have worn this one knit probably a dozen times with a T-Shirt underneath, should I wash it or just wait?? I don’t like when you have a soft sweater and then you wash it and loses some of that softness.
For reference I already...
Just curious what the overall consensus is. Like I said the title, this mostly applies to Iron Heart, but feel free to vote and comment your opinion on Deck Jackets in general.
I’m also curious if any you have noticed if the oiled deck jacket preforms noticeably different than the non oiled...
Then you’re braver than me. They all sound like solid jackets except for the Bronson. But like I said I have had been experiences with them. I did get their 8HU Chambray shirt and that is fine for doing carpentry or landscaping in, because I’m not going to miss it terribly if it get destroyed...
I don’t wash mine because it’s oiled whipcord. But even it wasn’t I’m paranoid.
You are correct because the Navy said they were looking for a garment that are easy to clean.
There are two kinds of Deck Jackets you don’t wash: the super expensive ones like Real McCoys/Iron Heart or the super...
I bought one of these recently and I would like to start a discussion here because I noticed that no one is talking about these. I’m curious if anyone here has any insight into the history or lore surrounding these garments?
