Hey Daan, who, what, where and how are you doing? I've been away, now I'm back in Southside Turkey. I'm going to rummage through here and see what's going on.
I posted my Elosegui Pirineos over on the What Cap are you wearing today and thought of you. You were so great filling me in on how...
This is an old charmer, the Elosegui Pirineos peaked beret. Daan over there at "Berets Anyone" thread, has them for sale at "South Pacific".
I got this a few years back in Seattle at a local online dealer whose shop was actually in Seattle. I hadn't met Daan yet. But since then Ive talked with...
This cotton canvas cap is Turkish made by a local co. Melek Şapka. It's becoming my favourite kick around cap. Sorry I had to edit the photos to protect the innocent, lol.
Turkish Blue Drivers Cap, I picked up at a hat shop in Nişantaşi, Istanbul. I'm shocked how well made and inexpensive at the same time. If they did online, I'd hip you to their website. But they are strictly a brick & mortar store.
This is an Atatürk lapel pin I inherited from my dear Turkish Father-in-law. I first wore it in a navy blue polo shirt collar. But in this blue modern Borsalino hat, I can wear it more often, it looks alot better than the gold Borsalino logo, and I think it really works, what do you guys think?
Oh that's no problem then. Indentations might even disappear with steam and a well placed thumb, };^))
But those pins do make it unique. There is a forum thread here about pins, and lapel pins used on hats. I recently put a small Atatürk lapel pin on the knot of the bow on my modern blue...
My Christmas Modern Borsalino seems to like being a Diamond these days. Since it's a Marengo I guess a Diamond in the Rough is more applicable, lol!
That's an Atatürk lapel pin I attached to the knot. First I removed the Gold logo using @deadlyhandsome directions. Then that Atatürk pin was just...
I need to submit an addendum...
I think I judged the new Borsalino too quickly...When I came in out of the rain, I snapped the brim back up in front and it looked wonky on each side. I flipped out and started pressing the brim edge down on a table top to straighten it and put the hat on a hat...
Just wore my new Borsalino in its first rain...opps! Afraid this hat will not be like this Lock at all. Got home the brim looked ruined..
I've been doing the hat upside down and pressing brim edge down on table top edge. About 30minutes of that has hopefully returned it to prerain condition. Now...
Lock & Co Sandown Trilby....
Not much love around here for Lock...and yes they do out source many of their hats. BUT, to their Specifications. This one was made by Isesa in Spain with Fepsa Fur.
What can I say?...Eight years of this and she still looks like this:
I hope my new Borsalino will...
Lol!!! Thanks Daniele for making me laugh! According to the movies, James has saved the World a few times...But I think it will take more than him to save British Hatmaking. ...Just kidding...I don't want to insite the wrath of any British hatmakers or fans there of....lol
Happy New Year's to all here at the Lounge. I see you guys are looking great and representing how timeless and contemporary the art of the fedora is today.
I'm here on the Turkish Riviera wearing my Christmas New Borsalino....My Best to all of You
