It would appear to me the quality leather jacket (Aero, GW etc) market is pretty competitive. To think one could fine a similar quality new jacket for hundreds of dollars less is folly. Hey I've been through this drill, as many others have. Once you have an A2 from Goodwear, Aero, Eastman etc...
Being a bit ham handed I would have a 10 on and jacket made of a heavier leather. My workwear with zippers are all YKK # 10s(nylon and brass) and for many years have been flawless.

I had a Cooper. Wore it plenty and it was a good fit. Replacing the knits was more than the worth of the jacket so it went to Goodwill. Replaced it with a GW Doniger
