I love taking photos of clouds and have done so since I've owned my first camera. Well wouldn't you know it...there's an actual society for those who appreciate clouds. Over the weekend a friend told me about this website and already I've submitted some of my photos for its gallery. Heck...

I'm not 100% sure if this is Thom Browne he's wearing.... There are risk takers in NYC when it comes to fashion, but this guy may have risked too much.

Rant of the week: I really can't put into words what I think of someone who would actually buy these and think they're cool. My jeans eventually become this 'distressed' looking, but it usually takes a couple of years...not right off the shelf.
From an ad in today's Sunday paper:

I recently came across this website promoting a documentary about obsessive collectors of vintage snapshots.

Admit it...all of us here have at least one vintage photograph of someone we have no idea who they are. If I had the time and money I...

Someone had the foresight to rescue people's snapshots dating from the teens up to the 1960s. These photos really give you a feel of everyday life back then (not the glossed-over Hollywood version). Photos from vacations, weddings, birthday partys, picnics...
...is a film I caught by accident late night recently that's definitely worth a look at. Starring Leslie Ann Warren and Keith Carradine it appears the director is big film noir fan. Set in present day (1984) the film involves the lives of three central characters in a smoky jazz bar in a seedy...
Every time I watch it (like last night) I always think what I would bring should the show come to my area. I don't know the value of books so I'd say I'd take (found it in my attic) my first edition 'Grant and His Campaigns' copywrite 1866.
Has anyone made plans for what will be done with your vintage wardrobe (or all your vintage items for that matter) after you pass on? I haven't. I have a collection of nearly 1200 vintage neckties and have no idea who to will them to. Isn't this a morbid subject?:eusa_booh
This 1940 Cadillac limo/hearse was awaiting the casket of some lucky guy during a funeral service at a Presbyterian church a couple of addresses from me. It was one of the most beautiful vintage autos I have ever seen.

Early this morning (couldn't sleep again) I was a bit surprised at what was on TCM. A couple of those early 70s blaxploitation films staring Pam Grier...Coffy and Foxy Brown....both had quite a bit of sex and nudity. I'm sort of fascinated by this film genre...how the black community was...
In the film Citizen Kane the retired Mr. Bernstein told a reporter: 'A fellow will remember a lot of things you wouldn't think he'd remember. You take me. One day, back in 1896, I was crossing over to Jersey on the ferry, and as we pulled out, there was another ferry pulling in, and on it there...
The big news around these parts this week is a shopping center fire set by a drug-crazed arsonist who died in the blaze. It destroyed over a dozen small businesses. Today the paper reported on some of the business owners who lost all their database info in the fire and hadn't made back-up files...
I was reading about this on The Sartorialist today and it was something I had never even thought of...but now may try. Does anyone blend their colognes? About the only time I have was probably by accident at the Macy's cologne counter trying all the samples on my arm.
I watched the 1944 Dick Powell classic last night on TCM for the upteenth time, but this time I noticed that both Powell and Otto Kruger wore pinky rings (although on opposite hands). Just a fashion statement? A bachelor thing?
Boy was I tired at work today. Early this morning (2 a.m.) I woke up and discovered The Remains of the Day just beginning. That has to be one of most emotional films I've ever seen (even though Anthony Hopkin's character shows nearly no emotion). It's beyond belief that the film won no Oscars...
I stayed most of the night to catch the uncut version on Das Boot on cable last night.....294 minutes!!! What a marathon...no bathroom breaks, either. In my book it's definitely the best WWII film ever made.
Quigley was spotted walking down main street yesterday showing off his vintage 1970s outfit made out that era's finest polyester...
I found the slacks at a second hand store for a buck. The design shows various scenes of horses and carriages trotting down country roads. Who woulda thought? I...
Did anyone else catch Island of Lost Souls (1933) on TCM Friday night? I was pleasantly surprised! It's the original Island of Dr. Moreau. The print was flawless....no scratches or dust. The creature costumes and make-up were incredible. It was one heck of a spooky movie! It's too bad it's not...
I was a kid in a candy store during a visit to my local Goodwill this week. They had just put out stacks of records and I was the first to go through them.
They charge 75 cents an album and the cashier wanted to charge me 75 cents for each record in each of these 78 rpm albums. I informed...
