    Field Leathers

It‘s your call whether you listen to more experienced players in the field or disregard their opinions as personal attacks, I guess. Anyway, if you want a cross zip, buy a Schott 618, it is a three times better jacket than any cross zip SB will bake you.

    Field Leathers

Well, this escalated quickly.. this thread took a most amusing turn from praised work to general shit-talk, Simmons Bilt buyer advice and the latest about someones 5 year queue at Goodwear :D I have opened a Field Leathers thread and I ended up browsing Goodwears jackets.. I mean with so many...

    Help deciding on new Aero!!!

Go with brown or black, more versatile. Blue leather with blue jeans is a no-go in my books where as brown/black works with both jeans and khakis.

What causes a perfecto leather jacket to flare out at the sides of the hem when unzipped?

Gravity. Next question! :D It does not look bad though, does it? To me anyway, it fits in just right with the overall „carelessness“-flair of the style.

Aero Bootlegger, Hooch Hauler, HWM chest fit question

Yes, the hooch hauler is too big. I think you can get away with extra room in the BL because it is a roomier jacket by design, but the HH would just look odd with the slim sleeves and the too large tunnel body.

How cold can you still ride a motorcycle in a Schott 740N peacoat?

Just so I get this right.. you are looking for a fashionable hard-shell jacket that‘s wind resistant to wear on the bike… so.. some other member here very recently discovered this new material called leather, maybe you can dm him and find out more about it.. :D In all seriousness though...

Did your fathers / grandfathers (WWII Gen) wear leather jackets?

My great-grandfather on my father‘s side served in WWII but whatever leather jacket he may have worn at the time, would for good reasons today only be socially acceptable in a Matrix movie, if at all. :D (On a more serious note: he was no member of the party or particular interested in...

Aero leathers sheene fit check and advice

It‘s a decent fit but I would reduce sleeve length by a good inch and bodylength by 1 inch or even 2 inch if they can add a 1“ frontdrop (making it 2“ shorter in the back, 1“ in the front.). On a second look, I‘m even thinking maybe 2“ less in the sleeves, seeing how it rests almost on the...

How cold can you still ride a motorcycle in a Schott 740N peacoat?

The Schott Peacoat is a very warm peacoat. 32 oz wool plus a quilted lining will bring you through any non-arctic winter. My brother owns one and he only brings it out at sub 0°C, not much layering required until -10°C. Is it warm enough to wear on a motorcycle in a warm country‘s winter for...

Opinions on two Ebay Used Vanson & Schott leather Jackets

The Vanson is a great catch. The brown hide is rare and the model discontinued. If it fits and you like the style, it is a great find.

Flipping jackets and the spirit of the lounge

There‘s nothing wrong with flipping in general. You want to run a side hustle making some money on the side buying and selling and committing some tax fraud along the way? Be my guest. This forum, however, is not ebay. It is a small community, small market place, no fees, payment by family and...

    Lost Worlds Deerskin J100 Sz50

Wrong. The Classified Rules pinned in this forum section explicitly allow people to post in others FS threads and also explicitly refer to cases in which sellers are trying to sell for what this community knows to be above market value. This new member has every right to post here, as well as...

    Lost Worlds Deerskin J100 Sz50

Posting the jacket Lando asked like 500 bucks for with a 1000 bucks upcharge, questionable in a small place like this where people know each other but fair game. Not owning up to it and coming up with cascades of eloquent yet shallow non-sense when being confronted about it? Quite absurd. :)...

    What is wrong with me?

It‘s easy. You are not buying these jackets because you are a man who is looking for a leather jacket to wear. You are buying them because you are a collector. We all are. The first jacket maybe was an actual enthusiastic „i need a leather jacket to wear“ purchase, everything going onwards…...

    Vanson Model B opinion

That man could have been happy if he had just stopped with a Vanson Enfield in the right size. I mean we all get sucked in at some point and spend and keep spending but most of us eventually slow down and learn to appreciate the stack of jackets we know own rather than to continue buying. I hope...

Is there too much grain on my new jacket?

Looks perfectly normal to me. Nothing I see there is a leather crack waiting to happen. Just uncorrected hide with its usual irregularities.

Is this Schott a keeper? (+ mini review)

Looking good! Somewhat boxy at the hem, but cross zips usually look somewhat like that when worn open, with stiff leather even more so. I agree it should look even better when broken in. As for the shiny leather finish, the pre owner may have conditioned and polished it, it‘s not necessarily...

Fit check on this leather jacket, please
