Those would be my pick's as well. That should be an interesting trip.
I've read nothing but good things about the wool Deer berets, however, if I'm going to be tempted, those Summer ones strike my fancy.
And as a by-the-by, the Béret Cotes arrived and is much nicer in hand than any photo can...
Hi Daan, I just wanted to say thank you for extra in the last mailing. Much appreciated—and now I have an original. I hope things are well for you and yours. I appreciate your posts, always interesting and informative.
A funny thing, but I find that berets suit me much better than other hats...
I grabbed one of those myself, in cognac. It fits well and is an easy wearing hat. I like the center crease—it's why I bought it and it's the only modern milan that has that style feature (as far as I know). I good driving hat that I usually wear brim up. The white works well for you.
Like Benzadmiral above, I've removed every feather I've gotten in a hat—except for this one, which I just happened to be wearing today and it's "brother" hat, the Sanibel (this one is the Delmonico Retro). I thought they added a little "dash" to the hat. They're not the nifty little feather...
Ah, nice to see you wearing one as I just ordered the Basco Roma in navy blue. Now I have a better idea as to what to expect. It will be my smallest diameter beret and I'm looking forward to seeing how it works with me. It certainly works well for you. Cheers!
Now there's a hat. I remember riding my bicycle out in your part of the country, thinking; "Why is it only Mexicans that wear sombreros? There's no shade out here for miles." Then I saw a fella wearing a hat very similar to your new one there and I thought; "Smart man.".
I'm going to have to look up European vs. North American sizes. I have no notion of European sizes and a L/XL may equate to a medium here in the U.S.. Early in my career, I printed on some T-shirts manufactured in Europe and Sm., Med., and large didn't match the sizes made here.
I like the...
Maybe it will shrink a tad after wearing and perspiring in it, or perhaps, failing that, a bit of shrinkage could be induced by wetting and warming.
I have the same problem—I'm between conventional hat sizes and it can be a problem. Nice looking, finely made berets from what I can tell and your...
Thank you folks for your kind remarks, I appreciate them. It's just that there are some unpleasant things happening to my girlie-girl that command my time and attention lately. We'll see it through. Again, thanks.
That works very well. Sharp.
The material and weave, lining, colors, everything about that beret appeals to me. It's the diameter that keeps me from going for it.
Any head shots?
Nico does look good in everything he wears. No doubt—berets suit him very well.
I don't know about berets suiting me, but, I do know I like to wear them. The only thing I like better is a straw in warm weather.
Speaking of warm weather, I was wearing this cotton Castilla last week. Nice lid...
Hi Nico, Canberra? The perfect hat for work at the Deep Space Communications Complex. I see the 34 meter is talking today/tonight with the Mars Odyssey spacecraft. Hmm. Perhaps with a little wire in the rim of your Bosco? Another trait to add to list of things berets do. Maybe a Plato Grande...
My experience with leather sweatbands in berets is limited to one. My first quality beret was a Hoquy/Laulhere in a size 58. Fit perfectly when I got it, but promptly shrunk after wearing it. I bought a wooden hat stretcher to get it back to size and it has to be stretched between wearings...
