Thurston Italian Vicenza Horsehide Full Grain Veg.-Tanned Horsehide for Aero Jackets

That jacket looks really cool now. Looks predominantly brown with some black patches. Is that the usual behaviour of this leather? The black vanishes fairly fast?

    Fine Creek Leather

Are you saying you often buy footwear where one shoe/boot is all scarred up and one is pristine? That seems strange. Or are you saying that you’ve scuffed them up a lot while wearing them? I have no issue with naturally occurring damage during a product’s lifecycle, merely the apparent use of...

I’m stumped. Which is to say, utterly baffled. ?? What does a 10 year old racing bike have to do with mismatched leather?

    Vanson Raider vs ELMC Windward

I'll second every word of that.

    wash your jeans?

Personally I can't see a downside to a sanforised denim like the IH 21oz compared to a raw denim? It won't shrink as much, but that's not a problem for me. It fades brilliantly and it's much more wearable... I went though the process of wearing 23oz IH jeans for 6 months after just a soak...

Re Each to their own. I don’t mind mismatched leather if we’re talking top and bottom panels on the back or on a sleeve or whatnot, (so long as L and R sleeves match) but side by side mismatched strikes me as entirely wrong. No symmetry or balance. It’s like when sleeves are different shades of...

My mistake, no need to apologise. Still unusually snug in the chest at just 22”.

Uh huh. But they still bled even after their first gentle wash.

    wash your jeans?

?!? My sanforised 1955S in 21oz bled more than any raw denim I own, including raw denim from IH. If I brushed against a wall I'd leave blue streaks, and everywhere I sat at home I left a blue patch. A couple of times each day perhaps I sat down for a few seconds on my staircase to tie my...

    Fine Creek Leather

Sorry, mate, but clearly looks too small. Best return. And it has 20" shoulders in a size 44 but measures only 21.4" around the chest??!! What the heck is up with that? Sounds VERY wrong, if you measured in the usual manner.

Crikey. And I wanted to like this company after they named their Cafe Racer after me... ;)

Looks bad doesn't it. Mismatched left and right main panels looks like an awful screw up, rather than something intentional.

:eek::eek: That's probably the funniest/stupidest thing I've ever seen on this board! They just cut the bloody epaulette off!! Where's a facepalm emoji when you need one?

    wash your jeans?

It is the nicest fabric I've known on a pair of jeans, and I've spent a LOT on jeans over the years. Once broken in it is incredibly soft. It also sheds colour beautifully, which is a blessing and a curse, because it will discolour upholstery.

    wash your jeans?

IH 888 works pretty well for me too. A bit snug on thigh and knee, but ok. Downsides are peculiar hip flare, widely acknowledged on IH's own forum, and for me at least, the front rise is a bit too high (rear rise is spot on). If you have a regular size ass and thighs they're a brilliant cut. The...

    wash your jeans?

What did you do about jeans in that time? Tailor made or buy pairs with a waist a few sizes too big and synch it it/have it taken in? Aside from living in China and having huge thighs in common, I also have the long torso issue. haha

    wash your jeans?

The benefits of being a regular size! When I’d find jeans that fit without a huge waist, jackets that fit my chest without otherwise being far too big, business shirts that didn’t look like a tent, etc etc, I’d buy maybe 5 of each. Clothes shopping was definitely a chore. Im 6’1, and for years...

    wash your jeans?

Look at soccer players, cyclists, tennis players, the more nimble football players, and heck, even badminton players..... lean guys for sure, but with disproportionately big thighs and ass for their weight and waist size. I was friends with a handful of pro sports people from my uni days, and...

    wash your jeans?

It is. It's a nightmare buying clothes that fit me and don't look horrible. At least tailoring is cheap in Asia! Even with tailoring it took a while to grasp what works for me and what doesn't- with rise for example if the back is correct at 17" but the front is too high at say 14" then it...
