Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

Thanks for the clarification. Out of curiosity, how many different patterns and different collars are there that Aero currently have for your crosszip motorcycle jackets? If someone was looking to customise one, knowing which pattern block might flatter them best would be helpful. Fingers...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

The mods mentioned aren't so extreme to change the pattern- adding/removing piping/epaulets/a yoke/a kidney padel, or changing zips. That's all just fiddling with details. Plus I'd never heard of Aero in 2012. :) If this forum has taught us anything about Aero it's that they're happy to work...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

You never know until you ask. They've been receptive to design changes when I and others have asked for them, but some designs I hear they don't like to meddle with. But they do so many variations of the classic motorcycle crosszip I don't see why they're mind a customer mixing and matching...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

Additionally, the one I said I liked is also not the same as Aero's 'default' J-106 back. You're confusing anyone unfamiliar with the designs with your comments. Here we see no Western yoke, as well as an action back with 3/4 length gussets.

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

Mate, I don't know why you're trying to argue this? The "in stock" Ridley link on their site only shows the back I just showed three pictures of (https://www.thurston-bros.com/products/copy-of-in-stock-aero-ridley?_pos=1&_sid=ad8eae89f&_ss=r), and if you look back at all the past Ridley's (35 of...

Footwear to go with our jackets

At first glance they have too much of a Doc Martins vibe.

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

Here's the standard Ridley back, judging by Thurston's website: When the variant I posted yesterday appeared recently I was really impressed. I'd not paid much attention to the Ridley design until then. And yes, the Badalassi has to be skived to be used to make jackets, as it's much too...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

This is the Dark Brown waxy pull up leather from Badalassi that is advertised for sale online. You can see it's darker than the Tobacco, which is referred to as medium brown on some sites. And here's a link to what it looks like when it's been made into a finished product, in this instance a...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

Some traditional V shaped motorcycle jackets not only support the V shape from chest to waist, but additionally have very wide shoulders, which can cause the shoulder seam to slope off the edge for many people, which some like more than others. I'm not as big as a was a few years ago, but have...

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

I'd personally delete the bagless pillion pocket. The shape of the jacket is worth noting- very V shaped. You could potentially add IR features to the Ridley?

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

This is the coin pocket design I prefer, as seen on Aero's Motorcycle Jacket. Less obtrusive.

Aero Indian Ranger Custom - help?

I've had similar thoughts to you about tinkering with the Indian Ranger jacket from Aero. I don't like the front snap pocket either, and also would add the piping around the pockets (definitely the handwarmers) but not the main zip. An alternative to that snap/coin pocket would be the Schott...

Is my Thedi leather jacket too tight?

If I wasn't too big for it I'd absolutely go for it. Great jacket.

Sears Vertical Zip Map Pocket motorycle jacket

Thanks for the info, Carlos. I've genuinely never in my life heard it called that before. You learn something new every day. So you'd call a big internal pocket in the lower back a game pocket too? Edit: I googled it just now, as the idea amused me. It's also called a "poacher's pocket" and is...

Sears Vertical Zip Map Pocket motorycle jacket

My uncles frequently went game shooting when I was growing up, but I don't recall them (or anyone else) from stuffing their kill in their pockets. The use case you describe makes infinitely more sense than storing a bloodied dead animal inside your woolen coat. Haha!

    Swivel Talon Zippers

That is interesting. I wonder what product they were originally intended for? They look fairly robust as opposed to fragile. The only zipper preference so have, beyond the obvious appropriate size/smooth travel/reliability/colour, is whether they dangle and jangle about- I generally prefer the...

Who’s going to pick up this Himel Bros?

The big fold in the leather certainly helps.

Who’s going to pick up this Himel Bros?

It looks a million times better in that photo than any other! For anyone owns it, never ever do it up because this way works. It could do with a belt or cinch, though, as even in that picture the hem is far too large, giving the jacket something of an upside down V shape.

    Field Leathers

Having just read through this thread, I'm left wondering what it is that sometimes makes the area surrounding chest pockets show through so prominently? Is the stitching done under too much pressure? Is it because the leather used to construct the pocket isn't skived? Edit: If anyone knows how...

A visit to leather jacket heaven in Thessaloniki - Thedi Leathers!

I like the mixture of hardware on your jacket. Quirky, in a good way!
