Just wanted to say that I'm tremendously jealous and that's the nicest looking padded MC jacket I've seen. I'm not in the know really, but the price seems totally fair to me, especially given the limited run of that stunning oxblood. Congrats!
Nothing better than a good 'crazy ex' story. Dunno what it's like in the states but the ex-military Dutch and Austrian chaps I've known similarly said it was extremely boring and a total waste of time. I couldn't do it for a few reasons, but I try not pass judgement on those that do.
EDIT: image links didn't work. see photos here while I work on uploading them.
EDIT: images should be embedded now.
Hi Loungers,
I'm selling the above mentioned jacket, so here are the measurements:
Pit-to-pit: 56 cm/22"
Shoulder width (seam-seam flat across the back): 48 cm/18.9"
Back length...
I'd definitely go with Vicenza on this one - but Aero's goat does look amazing - partly because of the buttons but it just suits the jacket for whatever reason. I have tried using buttons on a longer CXL jacket I tried on once and it was pretty ridiculous, but they were the futbol (right word?)...
Yes good question. I've also been doing the occasional search for any new moonshiner images. You'd have thought there'd be some out there by now!
I would definitely vote for a Moonshiner over the Seabiscuit, but it's probably at the top of my Aero wish list so I'm sort of biased. Depends what...
I have exactly the same feeling about the first one - and that he's been smashing it lately. My thought was that it's reminiscent of a video game character or something (maybe from boarder lands?). Still can't put my finger on it. His are the only cafes I yearn for. Yearning so hard right now :'0
Thanks for answering, SirJacket. I'm sure it'll get a lot more comfortable to wear with time.
I'd still want to go there to get fitted for a jacket. A custom tailored jacket from them is clearly awesome. Plus it would be loads of fun and could be rolled into a holiday.
That's marvellous, congratulations! The fit looks perfect, but how is it to move around in? Constricting at all (asides from the stiffness of the leather)?.
I'm already thinking of how to get over there myself.
That Lesco is out of this world. I pray one day I come across one and have the money for it.
The brown Schott in the latter post is also outstanding. What is it? It looks a bit like the Horween mustang hide, but nicer than the examples I've seen.
Fair enough. CXL brown is extraordinary.
The sample I have of seal Vicenza made me really consider going that route, but I'm happy with my choice. It is lovely stuff.
Think I have to agree. At least I know what I'm saving up for now. One of these with a Harris tweed/strome tartan lining would make such a great cold weather jacket.
That one is in Vicenza, right?
Welcome!
Aero, or Horween I should say, changed their CXL cordovan in the not so distant past. Having seen both in the flesh, the newer one is far nicer and much darker - approaching black, like you say. I don't know if @Peacoat has the old or the new, but if it's the old I see why he prefers...
