Is this a morning suit?

I say odd because of how low they are for the era. This is the 2nd example I've seen, the first being a maroon one that I own. Does anyone know if this look was based off something or what part of the '40s it may be from? I wager late '40s but it doesn't seem "bold" to me...
OH! That's a beauty! And it's one of those belted with the a vent numbers! I could probably fit into the jacket but the vest and pants are too small. I do hope a lounger gets it so they can share more detailed photos!
The seller even offers to add an extra pair of modern but classic style slacks free! The price is a bargain!

I'm also a tag saver. While wearing NOS stuff diminishes the value, it's a real nice feeling to wear quality stuff that's basically brand new, particularly NOS slacks! The one NOS item I have that I can't bring myself to take the tags off or wear is a '30s/'40s newsboy cap.
I personally think that while conservative it has some very nice details. Plus, with 1930's clothes in general becoming scarcer by the day due to collectors buying them up, why overlook the plain stuff? The more subtle details means it's easier to mix and match to make interesting combo's!
