    Shinki vs Langlitz Horsehide

Haha. The first time googled Langlitz for images, before buying my first jacket from them I thought WTF!? Those poor guys must shake their heads at some of the leather requests they get. "I'll take the assless riding breeches please."

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

Thanks for the info. I think I should be OK with a 38 but did not want to get stuck with it if it does not fit so LW will take it back. I had a Thedi with an exact 21" P to P and it was pretty snug so I sold it off. No gusseting or bi-swing on it either so it was a bit of work to get the jacket...

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

I heard back from Lost Worlds and they say they won't do a bespoke jackets. On their ordering page it does mention custom so who knows. I guess I can't get one with a larger pit to pit. At least I can buy a 38 and return it if it does not fit so all is not lost.

18" on a size 38 would fit nicely but pit to pit may be too tight at 21". A 20" wide shoulder on the 40 would be too large and body would be too long. I have always had trouble fitting a LW and I think they size their jackets a bit strange. I may try and buy a 38 and if it does not work, see if...

    Shinki vs Langlitz Horsehide

You'll have to drive to Portland OR to try a Langlitz in person but it seems you're not far. You can check out the Dehen shop also.

Unless you know a shipping company that ships for free, you pay. Yes to tax on the remake. CBSA are real MF'ers to deal with. I have never once gotten taxes back on a return, even after providing all the documentation. I did ask Langlitz to declare the remake at a very low value since...

Who is the expert here on buying jackets from Japan?

From my experience Langlitz seems to have trouble making the Japanese market jackets for us North Americans. I wanted a Red Dog and after talking with them about it and how it fits, they refused to make me one since they said they don't make them much yet they seem to make them for the Japanese...

    Simmons Bilt. What’s happened?

They must have changed image size limits here since I can't really upload any photos lately. My photo editor can't seem to size small enough now. Before it was no problem.

Similar experience here also. My Timberline was way too tight. The remake was absolutely perfect and I based my Cascade off of the measurements of the remade Timberline so the Cascade should fit perfectly also.

Tax here in Saskatchewan is %12 including GST & PST plus about a $10 broker fee from Canada Post. There will be no duty.

I did as Sweetfights did. Sent in my measurements but I had my wife measure me 3-4 times just to make sure and be certain. If they notice a strange measurement they will check with you and confirm. As Sweetfights eluded to, their fit process is quite thorough so you should have zero issues...

    Shinki vs Langlitz Horsehide

It is nothing special. Just a Cascade but with Speedway style padding so oval and more vintage-looking and not the more squared off padding. Will be for motorcycle use and not really for everyday wear but I am sure I'll wear it a lot at first to break it in. I have not had a dedicated riding...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

I miss the old Balorama. The new ones are not good and just don't feel the same like when I used to buy them regularly in the early 90's. They were heavier and far more robust. The new ones are plasticky in comparison.

LW says the pit to pit measurements include the underarm gusset. I think a 38 will be too tight at 21" pit to pit and the 40 would be way too big in the shoulders at 20" and too long in the body. Kind of a bummer since I really want one of these but I guess it is not meant to be. I may have to...

    Shinki vs Langlitz Horsehide

Langlitz is much cheaper in N America. Standard Langlitz cowhide jacket with some basic extra options ( extra pocket, pinstripes on back or padding) will run about $1300 US give or take. You can buy two cowhide Langlitz jackets for the price of one Langlitz in horsehide. Both of my Langlitz in...

    Lost Worlds G-1 Review/experience

Shoulder would be measured from seam to seam so where the sleeve is attached which is 19" according to LW. Looks like yours is around 18". I think you are measuring from seam to seam of the bi-swing back and not the shoulder seam where the sleeve gets attached to the body hence the 17"...

Finds and Deals - Leather Jacket Edition

I am starting to really like the Ike but am wary of new Vanson. New ones I've had in the last few years pale in comparison to the ones older than 10 years ago and don't fit that great. Sleeve length looks freakishly short also. I wish people knew how to properly measure a jacket. This isn't...

I don't use OSX. Unsure what the size limit is. I used to be able to upload photos here no prob but lately I can't as my files are too large even after resizing so I use Imgur to host my photos instead. Why not just type out the measurements here instead?

Footwear to go with our jackets

I buy from Baker's Shoes and Boots in Oregon since their shipping costs are half what Wesco charges to Canada plus they have a fit guarantee so no issues if I need to exchange. Even on a custom pair. They are good people at Baker's so I keep coming back and I highly recommend their shop.
