    oh i know, but we all have our personal limits. also, you go down that route and you need a 1900 house decorated with Victorian decadante furniture, objet d'arts and taxidermy... the cost goes through the roof ! ;)

    Narodnik, interesting stuff; i've never used a computer program for pattern cutting. this is new to me, and there's nothing i can really tell you about the cut or construction as it obviously worked out well without any problems. i'm very impressed with the level of finish on your coat.

    good lord, those are operatic in excess. any date mentioned ? i could see them appealing to those modern hispters who have an Artful Dodger/Victorian gothic look.

    a competent theatrical tailor could make that sort of suit. if you can't afford bespoke i would keep looking on ebay for a vintage one.

    probably late 70s / early 80s does mid 50s going by the label you posted (i can't see the label when i view the etsy listing... not sure why, maybe a UK thing ?) could be worth buying for cap fabric !
