Thank you once again for that thorough and very interesting elaboration. I find learning such things fascinating!

To my eye this next series has the look another wholesale catalog that shows retailers the available options for their retail customers. Thinking back 50 or so years ago, I think I recall seeing lists with similar options, though I don't recall illustrations, in a retailer's pamphlet for MTM...

Ah! Thank you for the explanation, I had just assumed they were numbers of that specific model of clothing. So then a Rundschau might be roughly equivalent to publications termed in English a magazine? A trade periodical?

Seven illustrations apparently from a catalog, and of unknown origin. Printed in 2 color ink. (Alternately, The Very Tall Well Dressed Men! ;))

Part 1 of 2. These illustrations are from a 1935 catalog of an unknown maker. While I'm not certain, my surmise is that it was a wholesale catalog, rather than intended for the retail customer. I'm not certain because during that era in the U.S. farming was still a major occupation, and a...

As a point of coincidence, Korean tailor B&Tailor made a 3 piece of very similar cloth about four years ago. I thought it rather snazzy, whereas most were confounded by its vintage character. Still think it rather snazzy! :D

Something stuck between leather and liner in shoes.

Glad the maker is stepping up to do the right thing. I'd be curious as to the nature of the debris also. Think your initial surmise of a glob of glue is a pretty good one.

This next series is evidently Italian. There are some differences in labeling and mode among them, but they look to have come from a common illustrator, though they may be inclusive of different catalogs. Part 1 of 2:

I would consider it a significant defect, and return them. If it's a disappointment now, it will likely only become more so the longer you have them.

A short series of some nice ad art from a British retailer(?) evidently named Rector Powe. Anyone familiar with them? Hard to place the period exactly, but it has a '30's feel, though some specific details suggest early '50's is more likely.
