@HadleyH1, some ladies and gentlemen are blessed with a good physique and a stunning personality allowing them to turn up anywhere in anything (even a jeans and t-shirt), and no one will mind in the least. They can pull it off.
Unfortunately, I have to make rather more effort than that otherwise...
From the links, it seems to have an aweful lot of text. Japanese 'mooks' seem to have way less blurb to ploughing through.
At the end of the day, it's just a catalog, really, isn't it? Customers are going to order on the internet, so the website is indispensable, and will remain so, making this...
@Edward, yeah, it seems total bunk right? IIRC I read it in Max Hastings 'Bomber Command', which is a brutal examination of the RAF's strategic bombing campaign.
My favorite WWII myths are;
1. 'Hiroshima ended the war and saved millions of lives'. It didn't, which is why we bombed Nagasaki, and even after that when the Emperor's surrender speech was in the can, the army rebelled, stormed the imperial palace, and ransacked it searching for the recording...
This thread has changed akemi an interesting turn.
I've often wondered how true the story about Einstein having multiple sets of identical clothes was. I've suspected that it was a myth. It's more likely that (like Jim Morrison) he wore the same clothes repeatedly because he liked them/lacked...
ON the one hand, looking at this thread always kind of depresses me a little when I see people like @casechopper and his awesome collection of jackets. I'm jealous.
OTOH I see people like Terry and Atticus and feel inspired that being a more 'mature' gentlemen doesn't mean I have to conform to...
@nick123, I wouldn't dream of commenting on your manliness at all!
Yes, the weight of CXL is reassuring. It's a good feeling.
I was just saying that there's a kind of customer out there who always wants the heaviest misunderstanding that heaviest isn't always best. People who don't consider the...
CXL is great. It's stiff when new, stiff when cold, and a little heavy. I think it's good, but not the most comfortable to wear. If you ride a lot, then it's great. If you're wandering around town, a lighter leather might be more comfortable. That's ok.
I think there is a demographic that...
Just found this by searching for Eurofighter instead of Typhoon. It's part of a whole body g-suit system.

@Doctor Damage, thanks for the link!
Typhoon pilots don't just wear a 'jacket', they wear a 'counter pressure' jacket. Sounds like a G-jacket to me, which would explain the hose and inlet valve I saw on the ones for sale.
I don't think I like the idea of having my chest squeezed by high pressure...
All kudos to Doctor Damage really.
Thanks to his kind support, I was able to buy the right jackets in the right size first time. He really knows what he's talking about.
BTW, while I'm thinking about it, there's a lot of current issue RAF Typhoon pilots jackets for sale on the Japanese internet right now. The new type with the deep V-neck opening, built in life preserver and mesh sleeves.
They look straight out of a sci-fi film. I couldn't wear one around. But...
@Flightengineer, my apologies! When you mentioned that you got your jacket from an ex-RAF colleague and that you wear a jacket in summer, I (mistakenly) thought that you must be in the U.K. Sorry.
@Edward, I love the original Alien film, never noticed the jackets before. Thanks.
