Don't sell 'em short... you're right the photos on their website look horrible, they seem to give their models oversized jackets. But if you explore some threads like WJAYWT, you'll see some incredible fit pics.
like @Marc mndt mentioned, 2 jackets with the same size tag could measure slightly different. There's always some variance due to the characteristics of the panels, the craftsmanship and even the method of measuring itself. Typically makers mention a variance of 0.5" which lines up with the...
This is looking more like their 50’s HB. No yoke, no buttons on cuffs, less darts on back and side adjuster straps just go straight thru rather than loop back
Yes, he's very concise and to the point over email, but never missed or ignored a question I asked - which I appreciate. Think he saves his vocabulary for the website lol

If you're broad shouldered and have concerns, I would provide him measurements of a jacket I like and ask if he thinks the shoulders would be too restrictive based on that - you just need to feed him some data
I noticed he tends to discount that measurement in particular, but I've found if you...
Keep in mind, that while we list measurements here like P2P, shoulders and back/sleeve length... there's a myriad of other measurements that the pattern makers consider. These numbers are not the be all and end all to define whether the jacket will work for you or not as the other person...
Yeah, I woulda grabbed this one, but I know the sleeves would be on the short side and waist may be snug
I think this is one of those patterns u gotta size up from your usual like J23
While measurements play an important role to understand if the jacket lands in your general fit "area", they don't tell the whole story. For instance, how cafe racers are typically meant to fit like a racing shirt vs half-belts which are relatively more relaxed. Especially an Aero 50's which...
