Older women with younger men and VICE-VERSA!

I don't recall any posts that said anything against older women--but I saw quite a few that complained about women gold diggers and "immature" younger men. :(

TCM - Where should they cut it off?

The problem with a cutoff date is that they didn't suddenly change the way movies were made. For instance, I think "The Pianist" (c. 2000) fits the classic style better than Doris Day romantic comedies do.

Older women with younger men and VICE-VERSA!

We have some clients who have been in the process of getting a divorce for something like five years. In fact, our clients, who have a lot of money to fight over, typically take years to get a divorce. It's food for thought for anyone who gets involved with someone rich, hoping they'll leave...

    Ladies... I need decorating advice.

Get the book "Home Decorating for Dummies." It covers various styles, arrangements and color schemes. Personally, I really like arts and crafts style and mission style. They look vintage and masculine, yet refined. One word of advice about vases: bud vases should be bottom heavy and wide...

Older women with younger men and VICE-VERSA!

Not in all cases. A good friend of mine had a long-term relationship with an older man who was just incredibly cheap: He had three cars and one battery between them. When the shoulder rest on his phone fell apart, he taped some wadded-up newspaper to the receiver. But they had great...

Do you like these? Fully lined cotton sateen skirt: Lightweight wool fluted skirt: From Talbots.com. They're expensive, but you could wear them for years.

gent's attire tutorial for the ladies?

Possibly, many men were thinner than they wanted to be in the 30s and 40s. I've seen 40s style pants make a man look about 10 pounds heavier than flat-front pants and a t-shirt.

    What's your least favorite chore?

I killed my lawn and planted flowers and bushes in the front and on the side, and a buffalo grass lawn in the back. It only gets about 5" high. I got rid of my lawnmower and now I just have a neighbor kid mow it once a year. It's less work, it looks better and takes a lot less water.

    What's your least favorite chore?

I really like Seventh Generation. It isn't made with petroleum, and smells faintly of oranges.

    What's your least favorite chore?

I don't really like doing these things, either. I see how fast I can get the dishes put away. The laundry often stays in the basket, though.

TCM - Where should they cut it off?

I think quality is more important than a specific year. I like the idea of great movies you won't see anywhere else. I agree with Lizzie that it's baby boomers with money to spend, not younger viewers, that they're probably trying to draw.

Older women with younger men and VICE-VERSA!

I blame late-blooming maturity on extended adolescence. A few generations ago, it was pretty common, I think, for guys in their early 20s and girls in their late teens to get married and have kids. Most of my female friends date younger men because, they say, older men cannot keep up with...

    Weekend Rituals

Saturday night, my mother and I watch a movie, usually on TCM. Sunday, I read the paper, eat waffles, pet the dog, read a book, take a 5-hour nap, and go dancing.

A breakdown of Fedora Loungers by sex, location, age and marital status

I agree with all of this. I've always liked more mature people. I'm usually the youngest person in any group I'm, except when I go dancing. I'm 38 and I don't see many men my age there. As for older guys, I don't think I'd like being 45 and game for life, hopefully still tearing up the dance...

You'd think I'd be a pretty good housekeeper with all these tips, but I really don't like mopping and filing.

Hehe. That's from an actual newspaper ad that's been running in Denver for years. Take 5 oz. of very warm water, add a pinch of baking soda and half a teaspoon of salt and mix well. Spray this into your nasal passages with a turkey baster or plant sprayer until the saline solution comes out...

    What's your least favorite chore?

I usually have a box in the living room that I put things in when I don't think I'll need them. When the box gets full, I take it to Goodwill. I've never missed any of the stuff. In fact, a few years ago I cleaned out a closet and had my whole living room full of boxes that I gave to...

    What's your least favorite chore?

    1. Get some canned air and spray the dust onto the floor. Vacuum or sweep. 2. Try a steamer. It doesn't crush the fibers of the clothes.
