    Five Star Leather Jackets

I took the designs of these two jackets as my inspiration. I had a shot of the black jacket's back but can't find it at the moment. IIRC, it is a Sheene. I probably would have gotten a wool or tweed type lining if it was available but that didn't seem to be an option. Also, due to conversation...

    Five Star Leather Jackets

Mine took about 2 weeks from payment to shipping. I believe that they had a fair amount of work, to create the pattern and while my jacket has taken longer to construct than some here, it seems remarkable that is was done this fast. Considering how slow some mfg produce a jacket (4 months to 4...

Goat, Steer, Cow or Buffalo hide. Which one and why?

Thanks, all for your input. I specifically avoided mention of maker in the OP simply because i was hoping for some responses that were.....broader....in scope vs. discussion of a specific jacket maker or tannery. What i do not want is a jacket that looks forever new or plasticky and I dont...

Goat, Steer, Cow or Buffalo hide. Which one and why?

Hello. I'm considering a custom jacket order and have to make a choice of one of these hides. All other things being equal, which would you choose and why? If it matters, the jacket would be along the lines of a Highwayman style, not for MC riding. Thanks in advance.

Interesting idea about the fake mfg for cache purposes. It's an H&M branded jacket if that matters. Any idea about intended gender of this jacket, or unisex?

Johnston Custom Shop Company est. 1953: Seeking Info

So, can anyone shed light on this company? I can't seem to find an online hit with Google searching and one of the employees at Johnson Leather co. said that it wasn't his company. I found a jacket online, second hand, with that tag. Wondering who might have made it, what kind of leather, etc. I...
