I have always been a little wary of dainite soles but love Trickers especially the Brogue boots so you have just confirmed that its the Malton with a commando sole for me.

Other than the Yorkshire Tweed being made in the traditional way in Yorkshire I have no idea, and unfortunately for me I tend to get itchy with wool if I cant wear anything between it and my skin, so my choice for warm trousers is Moleskin which I find very hardwearing and extremely comfortable...
There are lots of tailors out there, I believe they should only be interested in fit and not style as this is a personal thing, I'm sure you will not have commented on what she was wearing so if I were you I'd either find another tailor or contact some of the dealers in the style you like, there...
I have no idea what these are but for something similar try the old town plains or dreadnoughts from www.old-town.co.uk both have the single back pocket and are extremely well made.

Have a look at the William Lennon 78 PTC traditional Derby Boot, www.rufflander.co.uk , these boots are handmade and are surprisingly inexpensive for what you are getting they are also exceedingly tough boots.

Fit looks perfect to me, personally I wouldn't alter the sleeves they do ride up with wear and creasing and if you did shorten them when this happens you may wish you hadn't done it.
