I remember when there was a one to two year waiting period for new Harley's. Malcolm Forbes and Liz Taylor went to the factory, picked out a bunch of bikes and left with them. Felt sorry for all the poor slobs who were expecting their bikes that week!
Actually, helicopters can do whats called Autorotation, and land far more gently then an airplane with a seized engine. In fact, helicopters are far safer then fixed winged aircraft, when they are flown like a fixed wing. IE, you take off, climb to several thousand feet, then fly from point A to...
Most of the film from WWII camera men were silent for that reason! The sound was dubbed in after it returned to the studio. That's why, you will hear a Stuka JU87 dive bomber for almost any airplane in a dive for years after the war. It just sounded so good!
More like, "sorry Miss Lizzie, you're going to have to take the Plodge to some one that has one of these to analyze it!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVgc8ksstyg
Ahh, the unnatural way to fly, where you beat the air into submission! Just kidding, I have a lot of respect for any one that can pat themselves on the head and rub their stomach, while standing on a greased beach ball! :D
While watching Wardens video I found this, more a slide show, but interesting! For any one that wants a bucket list, you could do worse. https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=245&v=DJgCP8YrkP4
As glad as I am, not having to pay for a safety inspection sticker every year, there are a lot of 80s mini vans that put out a smoke screen that would do a WWII PT Boat proud! I also worry about the high mileage third owner SUVs that you know the owners can not afford to fix the brakes.
Missing in Alaska: Vanished in a Vortex
In 1950, a military transport plane vanished in the Alaska Triangle with 44 people on board, and hasn't been seen since. Was its disappearance caused by bad weather or something more sinister?
I rest my case!
Henry and Anne: The Lovers Who Changed History. A very well made two part show. Never thought I would be interested in Henry The VIII, but I am now! All I knew, was the fat old man, which was only the last decade of his life. A bit of irony, he beheaded Anne to get a male heir, but Henry and...
I have been watching a few Doctor Who episodes on Disney. Not sure why I never got into them? A friend of mine told me back in the 70s, I had to watch this show on PBS, I came away underwhelmed. The ones I am watching are from 2006. Not bad, still not hooked though!
