Aero Open Day: August 17th, 2019

You’re safe. The pound is only likely to drop further with that bloody fool Johnson blathering on about a no deal Brexit.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Very wet and cooler, with risk of thunderstorms. A good opportunity to put the cotton and linen away for a few days.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Sleeved waistcoat in Royal Navy blue cotton twill (Tin House fabric) with navy blue woollen facings by Will Brown of Old Town. Paired with Plains trousers in biscuit cotton twill (Old Town) and an old navy blue basque beret by Latreille from Paris. Picked up in excellent condition from a flea...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Or should I say ‘wannabe’ Blimps? This crowd didn’t actually serve in WW2, but were just served a diet of War films in the ‘50s and ‘60s and ‘Commando’ war comics.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

By ‘we’ I presume you mean 160k ageing Blimps and UKIP entryists to the Tory party?

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

‘Stanley’ jacket in Engineer’s Navy blue cotton twill. It’s graduation day today, so I’m wearing it as part of a three piece suit with matching ‘High Rise’ trousers in the same fabric and a contrasting khaki canvas single breasted, straight edge waistcoat (all Tin House fabrics and designs by...

    GoodWear Leather - 1939 Werber A-2 (new)

And presumably you’re going to extend the courtesy to every other maker that’s annoyed or frustrated you? I have an issue with Aero that I can air, anyone else like to chip in? Sounds like a win win and not at likely to disintegrate into a series of internecine arguments...o_O

What’s your heaviest leather jacket and how much it weigh?

I have the same view. My deerskin is surprisingly heavy, but very pliable with great drape (so it doesn’t feel like you’re fighting with at every move). Otherwise, I prefer goat and cape.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Sleeve length is always pretty subjective, but I’d anticipate the jacket sleeves sitting at least as low as the sweatshirt cuffs.

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Unfortunately (from your perspective), that’s the rare one as Will Brown stopped making that pattern 5 or 6 years ago. They do come up for sale from time to time though and all of those colours were offered in heavy cotton twill. In case I see one, What size are you after?

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

This is an older Tin House design designed by Will Brown of Old Town. His older patterns were generally closer replicas of traditional patterns and this is close to a Victorian engineer’s jacket. This is a French navy cotton twill sleeved jerkin with no lapels and wool fronts. No longer...

Deck jackets: pike bros vs iron heart

Mine (civilian 1950s) is a vintage 46 and allows room for a decent layer underneath.

I try to wear these jackets for as long as possible before I give up over the summer! 30 Celsius yesterday and only linen worked!
