Let's talk about Deck Jackets (my grail has landed)

Incidentally, am I correct about the Scovill zip, or is it later?

Let's talk about Deck Jackets (my grail has landed)

Practically my daily wearer at the moment when walking the dog on the wet, muddy roads around the village. Mine was produced a little later and is not an issued jacket (an Excalibur‪ by Spiewak). My most practical winter coat.

    N1 Deck Jacket Fit Check

I’d advise that you should leave it alone (including the sleeves), that’s how they fit. As has been said, it’s a practical winter jacket, so you will want room for another layer with long sleeves.

WTB: Freewheelers Journeyman in Olive size 40

You’re welcome. It’s a rare coat (very low production numbers). Mine is superb.

WTB: Freewheelers Journeyman in Olive size 40

Colin, I understand that you want Olive (I had a rare Tatanka brown version that was great), but this is the one for you: Freewheelers Deer Skin Journeyman https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/154209758567 @ebay I have one of these in a 44 and it is simply the dog’s... Rare as hens’ teeth.

    Sizing question Eastman A-1 jacket

I’d go for at least a 44, possibly a 46 if your shoulders are broad/upper arms are muscular. Additionally, the sleeves are narrow (particularly the forearms), more so than the A-2.

WTB: ELC B-10 or BR N-1 Demotex (size 40)

I finally was lucky enough to pick this one up cheaply. Not an issued N-1 but made by Spiewak for the civilian market. My go to dog walking coat.

WTB: ELC B-10 or BR N-1 Demotex (size 40)

The alpaca lining isn’t always itchy (I’ve had B-10/B-15/N-1 jackets where it was soft), but on this occasion it was unbearable. It was also a heavy jacket so it was warm. If you tend to overheat then I’d opt for a lighter version as it’s not designed to be worn over a T shirt. If it’s...

WTB: ELC B-10 or BR N-1 Demotex (size 40)

Apropos of nothing, I briefly owned the Buzz Demotex N-1 and the quality was excellent throughout. However, the alpaca lining was incredibly itchy (more so than the original N-1 that I had owned and the civvy 1940s/1950s that I am wearing today in some horribly squally weather). It wasn’t a...

    Wanted A1 by Freewheelers

    Yes, it’s awkward if you’re anything beyond a 38”. I saw a 40” last night, but I think that you’ll need a 42” for the shoulder width.

WTB 37J1 (Buzz Rickson or Real McCoy)

Thank you. With a loss of weight, I might stand a chance of getting the more common offerings to fit. If I were a 38 it would be simple, but I’m hopeful of running down a larger jacket. There’s at least one Good Wear 37J1-B test jacket out there, but I haven’t seen it for sale for a while (and...

    WTB Old Town clothing

Looking to buy Old Town clothing (small manufacturer of clothing inspired by British workwear from the 1890s-1930s). I have a number of their items already and I typically wear jackets/waistcoats in a 42”. I now wear a 34” waist in their trousers. Please send me a PM if you have anything that...
