    If your actual chest is 42” a size 38” highwayman might look like it’s got a p2p that works ok but then it’s going to feel small in many other places (the neck hole is way too tight, the front pulls… etc.) . The highwayman has very low armholes making the p2p measurement not that useful imho...

    A size 38 would leave 2” of headroom on top of your 42” actual chest size. In this pattern it doesn’t work.

    I’d go with a 42 adjusting the length to suit your arms and height. Maybe a 40 could work but you’d be pushing it already (neck hole might be too small, etc). It’s an oversized pattern design. If you prefer a more fitted cut then I’d consider the premier version.
