Tuesday is "Battle of Britain Day".

The multiple claims were very common with the bomber crews, where a lead squadron would shoot a plane down, the pilot would bail out, then, with the loss of weight, the plane would climb and go through one or two more bomber formations, an easy kill!

B-17 taking off and landing today...

There are others that would like to destroy WWII airplanes, those are some WWII servicemen. I was listing to the pilot of one of the only surviving Mitsubishi A6M Zeros, and he said he often has WWII Veterans come up and say, "it should be burned!"

God I hate the beginning of Football season! It reminds me, another year is almost gone, and wasn't Super Bowl, just last month?

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Join the club, I get called almost every year! I can call them every other year, and complain, they then tell me, I do not have to come in. What is really annoying is, I was dismissed many years ago, from a capital crime jury, now no attorney wants me within a 1000 miles of a jury. I always get...

What was the last TV show you watched?

Book Tv, Last To Die: Stephen Harding. About the last American service man to die in direct combat. "Just after 2 p.m. on August 18, 1945, U.S. Army Sergeant Anthony J. Marchione bled to death in the clear, bright sky above Tokyo. A month shy of his 20th birthday, Marchione died like so many...

    airshow spitfire

I think this is as close as any of us can get to hearing a 1000 plane raid! The sound of a Nightingale, and in the back ground, 197 Wellington and Lancaster bombers fly towards Germany. This must have been what people all over England heard on a nightly bases. Sends a chill down the spine...

    Show us your Guns!

Funny how the Tommy-gun, which was used the least to kill during any era, is still the gun most associated with the Gangster era!

And here is a fictional short about the above accident. There was no boy on the track, but it makes a great little plot twist! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m3EZr4VOPkQ

I keep forgetting to post this painting, called Saboteur by David Uhl. While the premise of the painting is totally fiction, the event it was based on is true!

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

While I am more then old enough to remember when that came out in 1968, it is probably considered ancient history to most!

I would not go that far! While I do not like texting, it is still a human being, and most likely a loved one, who typed all that gibberish, hash tag, I don't understand what you just sent me! What does a semicolon and a exclamation mark mean? :eusa_doh:

    Terms Which Have Disappeared

These days, tight means cool, as in, that song is tight! Tighten Up, used to be slang for a Promiscuous young lady, as in, she needs to tighten up, or she'll get in trouble!

What was the last TV show you watched?

American Pickers. They visited a woman who along with her late husband and son, have spent 40 years making two castles. I admire people like that!

anyone else hate 1960's Westerns & WWII movies with modern music soundtracks?

Even worse, is when some old timer, decides to slip old music into kids shows. I was watching at my neighbors house with his Granddaughters, Phineas and Ferb, when the villains are getting ready to fight the secret agents, they started snapping their fingers and dancing like West Side Story...

    Era Immersion Living

I agree! That roughly 100 years, probably brought more change, for better or worse then any other 100 year span in all of recorded history.
