Although an orphaned suit jacket, this brown striped SB beauty is being offered for quite a good price IMO.
It's not too often one finds Canadian 30's (which IMO it is) tailoring:

Didn't notice it before, but it is unusual indeed!
I think it was designed that way.
Actually the top of the front pleats are open...
I assume that originally it had a self-fabric belt or front-belt running through.
A late-30's to mid-40's German DB suit.
Dark blue herringbone flanell with pinstripes.
Alas the trouser legs have been taken in during the 50's - down to shocking 21 cm. I tried to restore them as good as possible... now they are 24.5 cm.
Too bad the "excess" has been cut off. I assume it once...
Hm. On vintage suits/coats the chest pocket size varies greatly. Some of the 30's coats have quite small pockets... I often have difficulty placing a regular handkerchief into them and therefore use a very small (and thin) silk pocket square.
Hello,
I've got a "new" (30-50's) pair of British cream wool flanell trousers.
At the cuff area there are pinkish stains (not just spots, but rather spread), probably from the red tennis field.
Any idea how to best clean them out? :(
Normal washing powder and a small tub with hot water...
A very special and interesting garment, I have to say.
Wonderful cut. Love the front darts and lapels. Also the seams at the back of the shoulders are quite nice - I know them from 1930-40's German suit coats.
Is it in any way marked or tagged?
It's the Rudolf Fettweis Hydroelectrical plant in the Northern Blackforrest built 1914 to 1918.
The bridge is one of six bridges connected to ways/streets that lead over the pipes and through the forrest.

Great clothing on the photo! I...
Coats sometimes sell at quite low prices - but in this case I'd partly attribute it to the small size.
22.5 inches sleeves for an overcoat are very short.
