Achieving the Indiana Jones look...without looking in costume??
We took a Yankee friend into the GSMNP today. I was wearing russet jump boots, khaki colored Khakis, a beige linsey/woolsey camp shirt & a tan Tilley T3. When we were at Cades Cove strangers started to ask me questions about the exhibits & such! LOL- Rick Blaine

Pull the wick up w/ a pair of needle nose... make sure the cotton fuel supply is full so the wick will have something to "wick". I think you are spot-on...and t'was ever thus. I visited the UK in '78 and had no hat, but DID have straight black hair to the waist,(it was the 7o's ya'll!) tied with a headband of some sort & clean shaven.
