An old .303 Lee Enfield that has been converted to 7.62. Used monthly by club members including myself, so Iron sights for 600 yards makes me enjoy my shooting. With my watch to highlight the wonderful colour of the wood, the strap is Hirsch honey brown so you get an idea.

(KNIVES) Let's see some sharp pointy objects

They are great quality and a super knife for the price. I have one that I use all the time and the blade is rather black from sweet chestnut wood. It is a really great little tool and I have leather sheath for mine rather than the plastic one it came with. A true giant for bushcraft work.

    Homesteading

I hope you have passed those skills and lessons on young man! My biggest regret is not learning wood turning from my grandfather and taking his lathe of him when he felt too old to use it and so he sold it. I was a young man more interested in going out at the time. As I said a big regret, we...

(KNIVES) Let's see some sharp pointy objects

If you can find a wood with a high tannin content or similar plant that has a high tannin to darken the blade and your fingers, sorry I cannot help with a tree name for your state. My sisters are fine thank you young man and the upside cakes are just dandy :-) You must post a pic when done

try using it with sweet chestnut wood, the tanning will colour the blade, carving a few spoons, bash a pegs, etc, soon give the blade a story.
