BR: Thank you, I appreciate your kind words. I really envy your adventures floating aloft in your magnificent balloons!
David: Thanks, Borsalino brother!
BR: Really appreciate the wonderful photos from the Balloon Fiesta. The pre-dawn photos are particularly striking. Must be both glorious and a bit sad for you to watch the spectacle from terra firma.
jlee562: Great photo. Beautiful hat. The thought of such a nice lid blowing...
Ale: Thanks, but I'm afraid you can't have the Borsalino! :nono: Besides, at Punti 6.5 it would sit on your ears, and even your prodigious hatting skills won't suffice to make it fit! lol
Alan: Thank you, and from one 'Hommie' to another, :tea:
Thanks, Jeff, so you were able to make it to your premier after all! I forgot to mention to you that I had totally overlooked the fact that Lydia had included Saturday's Minnesota Orchestra concert as part of our season ticket package, so we sadly missed attending to your premier. I hate...
Weekend Roundup
Saturday morning, a breeze filling the jib and main on a great old, free sailing model yacht, the second of two that I have found in the past month. VS, Satin, Granite.
Dusty pre '46 Mallory and bold-look Champ Supreme White Coney 4X Quality.
Trying on the great...
Beautiful Stetson, Bodie, striking foliage on a gorgeous day, and aloha shirt in October. It does not get any better than that!
Wonderful photo set, Jimmy! :eusa_clap
What a beautiful lid! Seldom encountered color for Disney, which looks to be a close match to Graham's Silverbelly. Love the contrasting ribbon and thin, subtle binding.
Interesting and amusing typo. Judging by sweatband, liner, and tag I would say '50s.
Congratulations, Ale! :thumb:
Interesting to hear your take on the hat's lines. How tall is the crown as you have it creased? I think that beyond camera lens distortion, the smaller size of the hat changes its lines relative to a larger example, further accentuating the appearance of crown height. If the ribbon is 2", as...
Very nice Cav, Alan. It is a brother to my milk-chocolate example. The 2-1/4" brim works well with the general proportions of the hat, and along with the straight, tall crown and frayed ribbon, lends it a very distinguished, '30s look.
Thanks for the kind words, fellas.
randooch: Will pass along the compliments to Lydia. The beautiful stained-glass window was salvaged from a Lutheran church in rural Minnesota when it was replaced by the current, much larger structure in the early 1900s. Late 19th century vintage...
