    "In Defense of Hats"

I will try to keep that in mind the next time I look at myself in the mirror. :eusa_doh:

    Gramophones, Phonographs, Victrolas....

Welcome to the Lounge, Scorp! And thanks for sharing your "new" Victrola with us. It sounds like you got a very good deal on it. I have a passion for listening to swing, big band, and jazz on older, truly vintage equipment as well. Glenn Miller really just does not sound right unless...

Showoff! Why hats / fedora make the difference

    That's an awesome Federation, caparzo!

    Strayed into obsolesence?

I'm tempted to say the top hat too. Generally, it appears you only see those on very special occasions from a select few, or you see them in the theatre.

    Odd Bow?

If I understand correctly, you mean TMC as the Hat Channel, right? I've seen hats with the bow on the back. I'm sure others here could give a more specific time frame, but hats with the bow towards the back seem to have been another option for fedoras. Maybe it just didn't catch on as well...

New Look to an Old Hat

Sweet ribbon! I'd love to see the bow too! :eusa_clap

    Post New Hats Here!

That's a nice one, Alan! I remember seeing it posted in the classifieds section. If it had been my size, I might have considered it. Be sure to let us see you wearing it!

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

Wow, I had no idea I had the same model as featured in the movie. I just looked up screenshots and realized it. Sort of a fascinating coincidence. I simply bought that one because I love the design of it.

Showoff! Why hats / fedora make the difference

I definitely agree with the comment about confidence. The idea of being original is also very addicting. Those two things make it impossible to go back once fedoras have hooked you. You have a great look, jpbales.

    Favorite bash or crease

The diamond bash is a classic. Hard to beat that.

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

That's pretty cool. I'm assuming that was a feature on the more expensive models?

Are cell phones the new pocket watch?

I've seen that one before. It's impractical, but interesting none the less. I know a lot of people in my generation that use their cell phones as their watch. If I sit and think about it long enough, it does make sense to use your cell phone as your watch instead of carrying a pocket...

Any "new" old radios out there in Fedoraville?

That's a very pretty radio! What is the glowing green circle towards the top?

Guess my retro repro WHIPPET maker

I'm not very familiar with J.P.'s work, so I really can't say what my guess is. Still, that is a sharp looking Whippet clone! :eusa_clap

Some bad news (now getting better!)

Thanks for updating us on your progress, Art. I'm glad to know it's working out alright so far. I definitely admire your will power.

    Old time radios.

I second that. I got mine "fixed" (I built the kit version and it had a few problems) within the past week, and have been enjoying it immensely. My old radios wouldn't see any action if it weren't for the transmitter; I don't listen to modern radio more than a few times a year.
