    Engineer Boots, Harness Boots...

These look great. Are you only making samples in your own size, or on other sizes to sell in a “sample sale” manner?

Thurston Bros. - Official Affiliate Thread

Apologies for quoting such an old photo, but does anyone have any ideas (creams etc.) for accelerating the darkening of these Ace russet belts? Thanks! Full disclosure: I’m in Europe so bought mine locally rather than from Thurston

    Cowboy Boots

Thank you Bama, that’s extremely helpful! I suppose I should have asked whether all USA made RRL western boots are made by Rios, as I would realize that made in Italy ones are something else altogether. Many thanks for taking the time to reply, I appreciate it!

    Cowboy Boots

Another question for the experts, if that’s ok? Are all RRL cowboy/western boots made by Rios of Mercedes? Is there an easy way to identify this? These ones have a different sole to ones which I know for certain were made by Rios, but they have have the same markings inside as other second hand...

    Cowboy Boots

G’day all. I’m going through a phase of really wanting some peewees, I’m a 10D so if anyone is looking to part with a pair or has any good leads please let me know. I understand from reading through this thread (some beautiful examples here, by the way) that I’m probably looking for 10.5 up to...

    Zippers

I just received a Black’s of Greenock smock which was advertised as being 1960s with a Lightning zip. In fact, the zip just says L on both sides. Can anyone confirm whether this is or isn’t a Lightning (UK) zip? Interestingly, the zip inside the hood is an Aero!

FS: XXXXXXX Clear Beaver Open Road, size 6 7/8

So I’m seeing a lot of online conversion charts saying that a 56 coverts to 6 7/8 UK and 7 US. I appreciate this is a US size, can anyone say that older hats were slightly more generous? I’m trying to find justification to buy!

Oh man I’m seriously tempted by this. What size would this equate to in modern Akubra? 56 or smaller, 55?

    Tatton Baird Hatters

Thanks chaps! The list is helpful, even with the “buyer beware” caveat. The funny thing is that neither TB or Wellema are on it! @dudewuttheheck has a TB, how do I @ him?

    Tatton Baird Hatters

That sounds amazing, and pretty much my cup of tea for a hat or two’s time. First, I would like something similar to a Stetson OR with cattleman crease. To date, I’ve been considering TB (based on @dudewhattheheck’s good experience) or Wellema. However, this talk of Art Fawcett, Gannon...

Dating Vintage Stetsons by size tag

Hi all, I’m clearly no expert but would love to acquire an OR. The seller says that this one is deadstock 1950s or 1960s but the price on the wholesale tag is throwing me - surely ORs were much cheaper than $107 “back in the day”. Any thoughts? Many thanks

FS: 2018 Freewheelers Mulholland Size 42

Yeah it’s the sleeve length on the 42 which is touch and go. The 42 is just ok on a brand new jacket, with some creasing I’m afraid it’ll come up short. I also have a wide back so it’s very tight across my lats.
