Germany 1935. A group photo of the Finkenwalde preachers seminary.
The balding guy with glasses and knit vest to the left, middle row, is Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Wearing and collecting vintage tailoring (suits etc.) is cheaper nowadays than a lot of vintage workwear. Workwear is all the rage also among reproduction companies... tailored garments are rather niche.
If you look for true vintage workwear(ish) items, that are durable, cheap and easy to get...
Rather unusual collar and buttoning.
But looks good for workwear outfits... and cheap too!

Anton, I will let you have this one.
I must be honest - it is also too large for me.
I intended to take in the seams to make it fit a Sz.40/42, but better it goes to someone who can leave it in the original size.
Same problem with a pair of brown, lighter-weight wool trousers from the 30's.
I have worn them so frequently (also on rough surfaces) that the crotch has become thinned out and now has two holes.
I will probably put some gaze fabric with adhesive iron-on glue on the inside, and sew a matching...
Rabbit, I agree that it looks some very early 20's "jazz jacket". Probably second or third hand from some NEPman.

Thanks Metatron for adding some color to this thread!

Here now some Soviet catalogue illustrations for menswear.
The catalogue scans are all from this interesting...
