    Post New Hats Here!

A vintage Resistol Diamond Horseshoe 110 (allegedly a forerunner of the 20X?) - very happy with it (in spite of my expression).

    The Resistol Roundup

Diamond Horseshoe 110 I just picked up this hat, which is marked "Diamond Horseshoe 110" - Paris Hatters opined it may have been a forerunner of the 20X. It is a beautiful hat in any event. If anyone knows anything about these hats, please let me know.

FS/FT: Vintage Fountain Pens & Mechanical Pencils

FOR SALE OR TRADE - Various maker and condition vintage fountain pens and mechanical pencils. These came from a desk from an architect's estate several years ago and have been sitting around in a display cup ever since then. Pens/pencils are not my thing and what I know is from a little...

FT: Vintage Resistol Saddler (Open Road style) 7-1/4

FOR TRADE: Vintage Resistol Saddler, Silverbelly (with a slight olive tone), excellent (almost unworn) condition, 2-3/4" brim, 4-1/2" cattleman crown, in a generous size 7-1/4 (I wear a 7-3/8 and this will fit me a little snug). This is one of my favorites, but I really need to find one in my...

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Thank you - I always thought the Alessandria was a thin ribbon, but it was sold as such and had the marking.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

For a warm Texas afternoon, my vintage Stetson straw made for the U.S. Forest Service.

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

It is more of a deep teardrop and not quite a diamond in the back, but it might end up being one!

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Thanks - I was not sure what to expect, but this is an incredible hat (and cost less than most of my Open Roads)!

    The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

Vintage Alessandria Today my first Borsalino arrived - and now I know what all the fuss is about. Based on what I have read, I believe this to be an early 1950s hat (1952 if the serial number theory is correct). The rear of the sweatband is taped, the front is corragated, and it has a cloth...

My first Borsalino - arrived today. Appears to be from the early 1950s, based on what I've read here.

The Non Shorpy Web All Stars.

I've been wearing them for nearly 20 years, but only started learning their history more recently. I was referring to the thin ribbon OR (introduced under the name "Open Road" around 1946 if I remember correctly - but probably don't!); my understanding is that the earlier model named the "Open...

The Non Shorpy Web All Stars.

Open Roads? More from the same great website. If I recall correctly, I've read several times that the Open Road in its "current" configuration was introduced in 1946. Apparently that same style pretty popular as far back as 1941 as well. New Travis County TX Sheriff & Deputies - Jan. 1...
