I'm not sure there is a standard wait. Stew said he was having some health problem which was causing delay, so I really don't know what to expect. That's the only thing keeping me from re-ordering the raspberry herringbone in a size down. It really is a fantastic fabric.
As an update, I have received the caps I ordered. They're nice, but I think they're a size too large (I'm right between the L and XL sizes, and ordered XL). I'll try padding out the bands a little to make them fit more snugly, or just move them on to someone with a slightly larger noggin. I'm up...
I'm still waiting for my order from December 17. Three weeks ago I received a message saying he was "ready to ship this week", but nothing since. I've basically written them off.
Since ordering from Stew I've ordered and received several caps from Jonathan Cordova, who charges a lot more but...
Oh, I will. I'm going to keep wearing it until the weather gets too warm for it. But I don't think the back will loosen up with wear. It might scrunch up a bit and sit higher, I suppose.
Sure - it's very wearable right now, and I think most people would be satisfied with the fit. That said, my wife is a custom seamstress and an absolute expert on how to fit clothes to bodies, and some of her pickiness has rubbed off on me. Any jacket that extends down past the true waist should...
Here are a few more shots. I'm very happy with how the front of this jacket fits, and I think it's an amazing jacket, but the back is not correct for my body despite asking for custom changes from the fit jacket. I asked for an extra inch in bottom circumference, added from the belt down. It...
Definitely CXL. This is the tumbled style, which accounts for the surface texture. This is a dark brown batch of it, but in more normal lighting it's definitely cordovan red toned - just the right amount of red.
Thanks to Carrie at Thurston, I've just taken delivery of a beautiful made-to-fit-me Aero Hooch Hauler in cordovan tumbled Chromexcel horsehide. I've attached a few pictures taken in poor indoor light - they don't really capture the depth of color in the leather, but give a bit of an idea. I'm...
A beautiful jacket and close to my size. If I didn't have a new Aero Hooch Hauler coming this week, I'd have contacted you about it. If it's still around in a few weeks... well, we'll see. :)
Yeah - the sleeve length is actually just about perfect for me - it's the length in the body that concerns me. I need about a 25" body length, and my chest is a bit smaller as well. I intend to expand my chest and shoulders a bit with exercise... but growing taller is unlikely.
If it were just a little shorter in length and maybe a tiny bit smaller around the chest, I'd be sending you cash. This is gorgeous. Good luck with the sale (and I wish you were maybe 2" shorter)!
I ordered a set of caps in different colors/styles on December 17 and haven't heard a word from him. Crossing fingers, hoping they show up. Very nice caps from what I've seen here and on his web site.
The Indigofera Eagle Rising in horsehide is actually quite different in feel - it's a fairly stiff, smooth horsehide. Saw it today at a Standard & Strange. Maybe with a lot of intentional break-in work...
The Premier Line 20s Work Coat appears to have a lot more detail/working than this one - a much more complicated coat, not really a leather shirt jacket. There are a number of them out there, though... The Flat Head and Iron Heart make some in deerskin that look rather nice, and Indigofera have...
Thanks for the welcome, everyone. Here's a couple quick phone snapshots of the jacket in use, as requested. This forum is indeed dangerous. Found it while researching leather jackets, placed an order for a custom Aero, and while waiting for that to arrive I've somehow found myself with four new...
Lucky new owner here - just wanted to say a big thanks to @trapp. This is very much a heavy, soft leather shirt, and I'm going to wear the heck out of it! The color is unusual, but great.
