You really Knoxed it out of the ballpark with this one, Jeff! Congratulations, I am very happy for you! Check carefully behind the sweatband to see what stickers remain, as that will help in estimating vintage, but I think it is 1930s at the latest, possibly 1920s.
Magnificent bowler man! lol Technically, it is a derby of course, but by any name an astonishingly nice, rare, and early example. Any stickers under the hood?
An outstanding early soft hat, and a remarkable survivor which scarcely shows any evidence of its passage through time. Congratulations, Alan, and may you enjoy it thoroughly!
Thanks, Jeff! Love that picture of you playing...head askance and shoulder shrugged, and...my, that is one enormous tips jar!
As for the grim situation with the M.O. and S.P.C.O., it is an absolute travesty and disgrace, and I fear that the entire musical season is in great peril.
Fascinating and informative article, Brad! I am particularly struck by the July 5th, 1930 New Yorker reference to the $1000 Montecristis that Dobbs were retailing!
Thank you for taking the time and effort to shed light on this dark corner of hat history, and I eagerly look forward to your...
Beautiful hat, EggHead, and congratulations. Caxtons are elusive, but consistently well finished, quality hats. Please consider adding photos of your fine example to the Caxton Cafe.
Flick: Welcome to the lounge, friend, and my sincere thanks for your kind words! Glad you enjoyed the photos.
Alan: Thank you! Ryan and I joined the Nationalist Army for the photo op. lol The museum staff created the diorama of a 1940s field headquarters, and set aside two sets of fairly...
Hehe I know of what you speak! ;)
Thank you, my friend! Your Mr. Mainstreet is one of my favorites and definitely one of the coolest hats in the lounge.
Alan: I am very excited, and could not be happier for Susie and Ro as well as the rest of the USA Womens Epee Team! Those old Standard Quality lids really are exquisite. Some of my favorite hats.
m0nk: Thank you for your comments, you are too kind! Alan, amongst several other loungers who...
Not me. Someone scooped the hat by offering the seller $60 and the auction was changed to BIN for him/her. Nice hat, but I am fairly certain it is missing its original liner as the seller said the crown does not have a sticker or printed logo.

All sweaty at the club...
Perry: Always a pleasure to see you in your thin ribbons!
m0nk: A fine looking lid deserving of your partiality.
Rob: Very nice. We went to see "Raiders" as well over the weekend.
Mighty fine lids over the weekend, as always, Gentlemen! :eusa_clap
David: Best of both worlds, my friend. Well done!
Jared: What a beautiful day at the beach, and a nice lid, too!
