I've used paint stripper and a pin to move it around. Try a tiny spot first. If it's a huge mess I wouldn't bother but small dots may be worth the trouble.
Well Van, trying to turn over a new leaf as stated, nobody needs to tip toe but jumping my ass doesn't help either. Trying to move along, admit to my mistakes within reason, and hope that others could do the same. Yes, I will try a little harder here and hopefully won't have to endlessly defend...
Yankee Whiskey, I also started my life of art as a model builder with my Dad, we supplied the Cockpit Shop in NYC (Avirex) with all of their models. I've only done a few jacket paintings as I tend to spend an unpractical amount of time on them. I'll post a pic or two if you'd like.
Hey Couchy, thanks for sticking up for me. Guess I do consider what I do a bit of ongoing service to my country and the heroes that fought for it, but it no way shape or form does it compare to that of a Combat Veteran. Hell, it doesn't even compare to walking around B-52's for 4 years in the...
And finally, if I seemed territorial I'm just willing to bet without even looking that you just joined VLJ to pick a quick fight and have had little interaction since. Turning over a new leaf these days, life is too short, avoid the unpleasant and embrace, it is good. Frankly, I'm OK with you...
How do you feel about her writing the Chinese characters on my blood chits? And adding insult to injury, she's Thai and only studied Chinese for 6 years. I'm actually pretty proud of what she does for our little operation.
Sorry, a little rusty here, actually have no idea how to navigate this forum but I did try to address whatever it is you are implying further on here if you care to look.
And yes, she does a wonderful job with the stitching, not sure why that would let you down. Maybe walk around your place making a list of everything made in China. We make it in America. Don't be so hateful dude, I'm a good guy that gets along with 99% of everyone, or maybe as of today with my...
Wow big J, you OK? Did serve my country back a while ago in the Air Force, as an actual veteran, proud of it but no big deal. And now my life is dedicated to preserving the history of WW2 veterans through various forms of military related art. I also collect and maintain any history that is left...
"Best and genuinely useful thread in a long while"
Agree 100%
And yes, courage is built by success on other cheaper subsrates. The just realize it's just another surface painting on an expensive jacket. No mistakes, just fix it.
It would just be a bit odd for someone to commemorate the U.S. Paratrooper as if a U.S. Paratrooper post service in my opinion. I would think only the vet himself would do that otherwise it's kinda stolen valor. Maybe I'm wrong. Sure hope I haven't been paying tribute to our nations heroes azz...
Just a mix of exterior brown caulking with some other components and auto body techniques. Sanding, re-filling, sanding again, then feathering in color with an airbrush.
I think you're kidding, but in case not.....I just assumed he was replicating the jacket as if worn during WW2 by a trooper.....and only 4 years in SAC.
So you've got a set of my 101st patches? the 48 Star Flag? Great. I didn't see a definitive answer to the placement question, and like I said, I just ran across this post by chance so I jumped in. Yeah, the 101st would go on the right for prior service in that unit. But as a tribute to WW2, I...
Just ran across this while searching for a patch maker by the name of Aero-Patch and thought to add my 2 cents here. Regardless of what Amanda says, the 101st goes on the wearers left shoulder, end of story.
Got a big sale going on for many premium shoulder patch sets along with Blood Chits and a few Squadron Patches while I change location from Las Vegas to Sacramento. Won't be getting much work done over the next couple of weeks so my way of generating some cash flow while my hands are tied...
