Hat style
I think it has more to do with the way they are finished. My two alubras arent overly stiff but you can tell they are meant to be rugged. An outdoor akubra will survive the apocolypse- Historyteach24

Here you have a Borsalino homburg that could be converted, the outside of the felt looks amazing and I love the ribbon work.
