"Detectives Guide to Wearing Fedoras on the Case"

Nice imagery! "when I finally came to, it was like trying to walk through an acre of beach balls. I spit out some blood and knew it would be a while before my head returned to a normal circumference."

"Detectives Guide to Wearing Fedoras on the Case"

Those photos remind me of a few lines of dialogue from Richard Diamond, Private Detective: "A blunt object cracked the back of my skull and I went down like an express elevator..." Or how about that black pool that keeps opening up at Phil Marlowe's feet in Murder My Sweet. I tell you...

"Detectives Guide to Wearing Fedoras on the Case"

Very nice! I'd definitely be worried if I saw those three "mugs" looking down at me like that.

    Post New Hats Here!

I believe the seller is here. I actually put a few bids on that one. :D I decided to stop the bids when I realized I wanted to save some money and go for a new panama for summer. That is a gorgeous lid though, and I'm glad you got it SuitedCboy. Post a picture here when you get it!

    Post New Hats Here!

That's a nice one. I'm guessing it's from the 60's, but I may be wrong about that. I actually have a Knox very similar to that one, with the same stingy brim, and the center bash without side dents. They're a nice, stylish summer hat.

    Panama Hat Thread

Well, I just placed an order for the "New Hampton", after not being able to contain myself anymore when looking at Aureliano's pictures. They told me it should go out Monday, and I'll be sure to post an update on how I like it once I get it.

Short brim vs. wide brim fedora

I wear both, although I have more wide-brim fedoras than stingies.

The Dumbest Comment I Ever Heard

I have yet to receive the "Columbo remark", and I would actually be quite impressed and surprised if I got one. Hardly anyone I know seems to know who Columbo even is, so the only comments I ever get are Indy comments or Inspector Gadget. If someone called me Columbo, or Phil Marlowe, or Sam...

    Philco Predicta TV Being Reproduced

While I can definitely agree with this in a way, I still think these are pretty cool televisions. I'm a huge fan of wooden appliances from the Golden Era: the first television consoles and Cathedral radios being some of my favorites. Still, I think Bakelite and the very first plastic radios...
