After our visit to Dublin, VA last week searching for my distant relatives final resting place; I purchased the dvd of The Battle of Cloyd's Mountain. Outstanding video done on the 150th anniversary of the battle. Well worth the purchase for anyone interested in history, especially the Civil War.
No jackets worn around here lately as the Mid-Ohio Valley been waaaaay tooooo warm. However heading to Canaan Valley tomorrow and predicted low on Tuesday is to be in 40's! I'll take at least a jacket and perhaps more.
Yard work yes. But the one that really gets me is getting fall leaves taken care of. We've got some huge oak and sycamore trees and they drop leaves like nobodies business. Each fall it becomes a major task racking, blowing, gathering, mulching or burning. Unbelievable! And if I don't...
Not actually today but only 24hrs ago. The lesser known Civil War Battle of Cloyd's Mountain May 9, 1864. Sometimes called the bloodiest hour of the entire war. Gen Crook led troops out of the Kanawha Valley with orders to cut the Virginia-Tennessee rail line. Lee's last line of supplies...
A restaurant near us serves a fantastic soup. Soupa Fresca at El Mariachi (http://elmariachimex.com) is about as good and as authentic as you can come to south of the border. I'll be there tomorrow for a new t-shirt, Mariachi band (www.youtube.com/watch?v=1cyONy-M9J4) and my bowl of Soupa Fresca!
A buddy of mine also likes Dobel, so now I've gotta try it. He's also kinda partial to Herradura Ultra. I've been with 1800 Silver for a while now. But actually I think there's something to it when people say if it's 100% agave it's gotta be good.
Tonight it's Cinco de Mayo :) on Friday the 4th, making it actually Cuatro de Mayo! :p So it's Pacifico, Corona, dos Equis, Madelo Especial and Margaritas! Viva Mexico!!!!
Everything on here looks and sounds great. That's coming from a guy who's back on the Nutrisystem. :( Not exactly fun, but I'm sure I'll look like Marie Osmond in about four weeks!
Thanks facade for the info. I don't think an Open Road would be one of my favorites, but do indeed respect anyone who might wear one. Thinking back now, I can remember an old cattleman friend of the family who wore one.
Been looking thru this thread for past few minutes and have yet to figure out just what makes an Open Road. Please pardon my ignorance, but could someone share with me what qualifies a hat to be an Open Road? Thanks. o_O
Phirst "official" Pronghorn Pheed went well. Wasn't quite sure just how to prep this Wyoming harvest, so decided on the BBQ smoker. Took a little longer than thought but with some steak seasoning, apple wood, and increased temp up to 350/400, turned out great.
As promised... I did slip in a little gin (real) martinis to some. To say the least it wasn't well received. Guess this crowd just no class and ain't no kinda purist. But hey I already knew that. LOL! :D
