As a teen in the late 60's early 70's there were several Tiki/Polynesian themed apartment complexes around Tacoma. If you look hard enough, you can still see some archaeological evidence of their existence in the form of decaying Tiki totems. Also a strip bar my friends and I could only dream of...
The replacement ribbon was matched exactly to the original as I stated in my add. Not all vintage Whippets had contrasting ribbons and if it did, I never would have bought it in the first place. Apparently the new owner feels the same. Different strokes for different folks.
