In theory the Beaver would take the elements better, however they are also much more expensive. Usually more than you'd want to spend on a hat that you will sweat in and beat up. For $83 you could get a new Akubra every year
I'll say what many will say; Akubra. They're fur felt, durable, can take the elements and they're affordable, too if you get them from Everythingaustalian and can wait 3 months.
With these vintage Borsalino's I've found the 7 5/8 fits me better than my usual 7 1/2. I guess they were sized a little small then like the new ones tend to be now or other factors have shrunk the vintages ones I've gotten

Thanks, Moon. It's kind of a yellowy mid brown, another one of those colors that's hard to capture in a photo. I love the thinness and lightness of these old Strats. The only thing thinner and lighter is the old Borsalino thin ribbons.
HJ, kind of looks like that brim was cut down. A Mode Edge wouldn't normally have any hint of stitching. Curious. Great hat in a very cool color just the same
