1000% in agreement - totally unacceptable, which was the subject of a thread about 10 days ago where we discussed our tolerance levels. As one who institutes QC inspections on every item we sell and who is on the tip of the spear when listening to custom inquiries and complaints such as this...
I am fully impressed with every concept that's been presented. I really don't think there's a bad choice here, just degrees of great choices. We have plenty of time to continue exploring styles and hearing from others, and we need that time, too, but I want to thank you all for the great...
The creasing you see in the Walnut Brown and Havana Brown versions is what as-delivered jackets would look like, which is a subtle, mildly lived-in look out of the box, whereas the black version is my own jacket and much more lived in and broken in after several months when the photos were...
If we have enough interest, long fittings will not be a problem, though the styles TMitchell59 has and many of those I posted photos of produced no issues as regular fittings for guys who were tall (but not extremely tall - 6' 5" tall and above). The typical grade in sizes for these types of...
TMitchell59 is correct, and it was his post that started this idea percolating. The overall concept and goal of what can take place and the progression of events has been outlined by me in the intro of this thread. Right now, we just want members here to feel free to be bold and ask for their...
I fully understand, but please feel free to engage in the conversation and exchange ideas; even if you are not able to buy, you may have worthy contributions everyone could gain from.
I've been in touch with the honchos here and we should see this thread merge into the new thread later today, which I will then be much more focussed toward enlisting others to participate via the exchange of ideas and to moving this further into the reality of happening. Thank you!
That's an interesting overlap we share, Fanch. I'm a big junkie of western cowboy boots and have some from a variety of makers that include JB Hill, Lucchesi, various others, and a now-defunct one-man show Dave Cobos, the latter being very much what Mr. Ramirez was to you. Cobos used lasts he...
When I was 13 years old and starting to take my collecting of military items into the pandemic stage, one of the older dealers who mentored me (who was younger then than I am now - ouch!) stated that what he saw in me was the mind of a true collector and such true collecting was a disease that...
I don't know what became of the jackets we made for them, or at least all of the jackets we made for them. At least one Hartnett jacket was sold on Ebay (didn't look worn at all) and Gary Eastman bought that, but that's the only one I can account for; clearly one Hartnett jacket will have had...
Crooked stitching is a bother to me on any jacket at the mid-range price point and up, so I correlate this issue with cost. If the jacket design requires the use of a twin-needle sewing machine and one isn't used, that would also annoy the heck out of me; it's then both lacking in authenticity...
Fine with me, so what about the jacket's waist adjusters on the back? I like the belt type as seen on the jacket that's the starting point you chose vs. the tab types with buttons on some of the other models.
I'm sorry I can't help you with the income situ, Nick123, but if this goes anywhere, I think we may be able to do something with the length. If I may ask, what is your sleeve length in a dress shirt and what jacket size do you think you'd be? Thank you!
Thank you, Handy Mike; you'll get no arguments from me on this choice. This is one I regret not getting for myself, so if this becomes "the one," I'll be in line, too.
How do you other guys feel?
What do you think about not having button cuffs and having a sleeve design as seen in post #15?
