    I had something like this in mind.Aero 50's Deluxe Half Belt in the darkest cordovan colour possible.As I understand it cordovan is a section of horse hide used primarily for shoes but I think Aero and others use it to describe the colour.

    I enjoy mine-these jackets are a big investment but/and will give you years of protection and improve with wear.I have a jacket with similar hand-warmer pockets to the Barnstormer in terms of placement and find rain runs down my arms.The Hudson hand-warmers are at waist level so this doesn't happen.

    I recommend the Aero Hudson,possibly sized up to allow for layering as required.It is a practical long length jacket and as tough as they come.If you provide measurements with your layers on they would work from that.Their chromexcel fqhh leather is virtually waterproof.

    I think that is leather-seems to have a rough and smooth side and is the typical shape of an Aero puller.I am biased towards horsehide in any jacket.

    I measure sleeve length as per the 'Aero' correct method and take the back measurement from the collar seam to the hem as you describe.

    In the past I have used a thick over-sized shirt as a mock up which can be easily pinned up to get the shape and length you want.I still find sleeve length confusing as some measurements are given as a straight line from shoulder edge to cuff and some as a measurement of the sleeves outer curve...
