BUCKAROO BONANZA! - The Hats that Major Mike Moore Makes

Yep & an over 3" brim helped too. Most of the hats I saw from The Duke's estate sale were 7X CB.

Shoe Polish That Won't Darken Leather

I mainly use Lexol conditioning wipes on boots, saddles, belts, hat sweatbands, you name it...even my wife's leather living room furniture. Nothing but good results so far. I've used the Urad Leather Mate stuff to restore old leather items, sheaths, holsters, reins, etc.

Shoe Polish That Won't Darken Leather

I started using URAD cream when it was Leather Mate on boots to protect, shine, remove scuffs, etc. It makes the leather look wet, so how your boot would look like if you wore it out in the rain, when first applied. It can be buffed to high sheen. YMMV...

I've tried twice for a 4 1/2" Open Crown, straight sides, with at least a 3" wide or wider brim. Last one was 5" crown, better straight sided than first, but still under 3" for the brim. Some of the news here that they don't have certain equipment at the shop explains things better. Not sure...

    Stetson Surplus

Odd that I'm seeing 3X around the crest then another crest with Royal Stetson??? You're also showing 2 different liners in the photos which is confusing. 3X is a level well above Royal Stetson so this posting includes a photo of another hat....

    keeping a vintage sweatband supple

Damp basement is definitely a concern for supple sweats as the moisture leads to mold/mildew effects. I agree with climate control for the vintage ones of high value for sure. With boots, holsters, belts, spur straps, saddles, bridles, reins, saddles bags, chaps, etc. Lexol wipes are in...
