New Langlitz Cascade in Black Goatskin w/ Brown Stitching

Pawineguy, what does your jacket weigh?

    Zip it

My leather jackets and vests are not dainty garments. I do not want dainty hardwear on these leathers. Heavy zips and snaps. If I could not specify heavy zips/snaps on a jacket from a manufacturer, that is a deal killer.

the fit of a cooper A2?

I too had one some time ago. I'm a 42 and it was a 44 and fit very well. I'm pretty much an off the rack fit. I wore that jacket till the knits were ragged. It went off to goodwill. Replacing the knits was more than another jacket off the Bay.

What are your thoughts on US WINGS Jackets?

I currently have a US made Signature series A2 in goat size 42. It is well made with good materials. Not particularily accurate, but a nice looking jacket. Buying it was problem free and no waiting. The fit in the shoulders is perfect but a bit baggy at the waist(a common complaint for most...

My understanding is Nick used to work for Whites. Nicks is also located in Spokane, Wa. Nicks makes a fine product.

Life with ONE great Leather Jacket vs. Life with MANY Leather Jackets

The problem with asking for an opinion on fit on this forum or any other is you will get the spectrum of opinion. It will vary from 'perfect' to your shoes are ugly.

    Anj-4

Overengineered? Perhaps for the time and technology. Old technology, for sure. Not necessarily a bad thing, though. Topic of discussion for another time.

    Anj-4

A very hansome jacket. No criticism of the jacket, your review reminded me of why I would rarely wear one. They were designed for very cold(high altitude over Northern latitudes) and warmth in a sedendary activity(in an airplane). For me, they are too heavy, bulky, hot and movement is too...

    Anj-4

I mentioned US Authentic because a budget was mentioned. LW's ANJ-4 certainly looks like a thing of beauty and it should for the price differential of almost 70%.

    Anj-4

I've been considering one. I noticed US Authentic makes one with goatskin doubling leather like LW.

    Goatskin -- any input?

My JL N-200 goat size 42 weighs 2.2lbs

    Goatskin -- any input?

I like goat for it's lighter weight. A 4+ pound leather jacket is a deal killer for me, even if it is goat.

    Goatskin -- any input?

Based only on the photo. LW's goat looks similar to the sample goat swatch Langlitz sent me.

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

E Shackleton, If I may suggest, look into the hard toe option of either celastic or double celastic. These will keep the toe in its original shape. If you like the creases to form all along the toe then the hard toe will not work.

    Goatskin -- any input?

rmconner80, Would you possibly post the weight of your jacket? Nice jacket, BTW. Thanks

I would like to add my comments can be applied to many of the quality bootmakers e.g. Nicks, Wesco's, Hoffman etc.

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

Have you ever had your feet measured and fitted to any of these boots? If not, I highly recommend you do so by a White's approved rep or at White's. Here is why, having the boots custom fitted will take in consideration the differences between your left and right feet, which can be quite...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

In my experience, correctly fitted boots and shoes when new should not hurt your feet. This means harm your feet with blisters, hotspots etc. Boots and shoes can be stiff and it will take time for the leathers to take the creases. To describe the break in as torture indicates, to me, you do not...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

No question the smoke jummpers are heavy. My current boots are spec'd to reduce weight: lower tops, lighter leather and lighter soles. I do not need the protection as much now days. The bullhide boots do have a nice grain.
