Done with the funeral. Now waiting while the car is serviced. Rainy as ever today with high wind warnings now passed and no visible damage here. Donegal tweed and the dark navy Disney Exmoor for me; Champ in dark brown for MrsFed.
Everyone has their preferences. I love the looks of a classy Homburg, but think I look like a clown in mine (which I'm probably wearing to a funeral today).
I personally think the subtle contrast is killer cool and classy to boot, like these two from Bob Jesse @navarre of Black Sheep Hat...
I have a hat somebody attached the fuzzy side of those velcro strips with the pull off paper on the back that exposes adhesive. It works pretty well, but is a pretty permanent solution.
Storms up here as reported by @Redfokker down south. Day 2 for the Stratton conversion by NW Hats. Paperwork and drug testing? Just so I can handle firearms all day? Huh.
.
What I'm going on is the deal with Stetsons, (others?) in the mid-late 40s-50s where both the crown ribbon and the brim binding contrast with the felt, and between the ribbons as well.
I have a taupe 50's Stetson that is kind of like this. IIRC, @RJR has a Racine that is set up like this...
Guys, I had a dark moss hat all figured out with Michael and then the remaining hat body had serious problems. Michael ordered more dark moss beaver felt, but in the meantime Eric and Jim both had excellent hats made in the natural beaver felt.
I spoke with Michael and he said he had one...
Extraordinary, Moe. That's got to be the narrowest "Cav" edge I've ever seen.
Thanks, guys. It's a new beginning. Out of the office madhouse and into.... retail! Ha! I like to think of myself as semi-retired, even though this starts at full-time and only drops back to 32 hours/week after...
That's one hat I wish I had picked up instead of the Floretine Milan Stetson. I like this version of sand much better than the lighter color on mine. This looks more like natural straw to me. Very sharp looking modern lid.
