I know many here dislike Gustin’s attempt at leather jackets in the past. I feel this latest L3 is a pretty decent effort, and I’m considering it in my next purchase because of the low price.
Seems like in the end, I’m leaning toward the Iron Heart because I like everything from them.

If you spent your own money, and can afford either jacket, which would you rather get?
1. Gustin L3.
2. Iron Heart Horsehide X Self Edge Collab.

I am toying with the idea of selling this jacket for $149. Since these photos, I haven’t worn it—below are the last set of photos before it went into the walk-in closet (in same exact condition):
Does anyone here have interest? [Edit: I wore this jacket less than half-dozen times—it’s very...
The jacket is now sold. Thank you for all the interest and the private messages—sorry I can’t get to everyone but it is sold to a repeat buyer.
And thank you TFL for the space.
Will miss this jacket.

Awesome Aero Leathers “Aged Tan” Plainsman. I bought it here a couple months ago, shipped from Europe. It was hardly used and still is. I wore it a couple of times to dinner with my wife on the coast (with multiple compliments from people we don’t know).
Excellent condition overall—leather...
Ton, that looks great. Hard to believe the price for something that’s as legit as that. Good purchase, but how far are you going to take this? [emoji1]

Montgomery Ward wasn’t especially an outstanding store, sort of like Sears in the early days. But this jacket seems nice with decent hide and construction. I’d be super happy to own that!

navetsea, this is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve heard someone reference “morning sun” on denim forums in similar context. Is there something about morning sun, or sunlight in general, that affects denim? Thx.

Huh. Soaking wet but hanging stiff like it’s been out in the desert for a hundred years. Inside-out and bloated with water:
Here, sitting tall and drying quickly (still inside-out).
The 18oz indigo-on-indigo is like armor. I think I’ll enjoy breaking in this IHJ-72 Type II to achieve...
That’s interesting, thanks. I figured once the conditioner saturates into the leather, not much of it will transfer. Certainly hasn’t happened with my leather goods, like the Brooks leather seat on my bike, the leather notebook cover I’ve used for years, or the watch bands and bracelets that I...
Does anyone use leather conditioner/protectant on the leather label before they soak or wash their denim jackets? Probably an overkill but I quickly smeared a little Obenauf’s on the label before dunking the jacket into the drink.

Better than the watch forum at WatchUseek. $400 to $7,000 a pop. TFL is like the methadone for the more potent habit of wristwatch addiction.

Thanks, Zombie. The IH feels great and is like a comfortable cocoon. To be honest, the others also feel great, too, even if the Lee Japanese Rider is short. I have an Iron Heart Type II 18oz indigo/indigo coming tomorrow. I’ll soak it and then share a fit pic or two.
Here’s the IH Type II from...
As mentioned a few posts ago, here are some fit pics. Apologies for grainy qualities in these pics—they were taken early in the morning in very low light, but I think they show the fit of each jacket:
— Taylor Stitch Long Haul Trucker, 13.75 oz.
— Lee 101J 1946 Rider Japanese, 13.5 oz.
— Iron...
