Agreeing with Mr Proper, the Eastmans will be an accurate reproduction. I had a BOB Eastmans, great jacket sold it on to fund a D-1 (Eastmans) which has a longer wear season in the UK being a thinner shearling.
I’ve just had a pair of my Pike jeans refurbed by the ‘Denim Doctor’: all rips and worn areas repaired / reInforced and new pocket linings added. Cost about half the price of a new pair to rescue these. On the way back to me, daily wearers for about 10 years so they deserve a little love.
I purchased some of these, lower cut neck which I’ve found with some vintage style T’s & very long the latest Pike offering which works well tucked in. Very slim tailored fit too.
I’ve found Pike Brothers to be excellent value with an extensive range

Nylon feels thinner Edward and the insulation not as thick as the ‘Vintage’ Alpha Ma-1, however this is an advantage when the weather is warmer & I can wear the Greenbrier when the Alpha would be a bit too warm. And then you get into L2-B country of which I have an Alpha ‘79 issued jacket that...
I’ve got the Greenbrier version, greener type pretty much identical to the Alpha ‘Vintage’ MA-1 jacket. Textiles aren’t as robust as the Alpha & it’s a bit lighter in weight but patterned well and very comfortable on. It’s also about 1.5 inches longer than the Alpha...I really like it & it gets...
Replica Alpha MA-1’s: had several jackets with the Gold n Red pocket tag inc an N-2B, textiles were great, colours not necessarily that accurate. Can’t recall the ‘made in’ label & have since moved them on (came up a bit big on me in XL). Thought they were USA, may have been Vietnam as...
Alpha ‘Replica Series’ made in the USA used very good textiles going back some years, nice thick nylon shell, decent knits and even proper interlining with a percentage of wool as opposed to the modern lightweight synthetics used. I recollect one of the decent series had a red and gold cigarette...
A-1 weather over here at the today, maybe an A-2 this evening, recently moved out of D-1 territory. Heavy Ostmann last week at times early morning & into Hartmann territory by noon. I’d be lost without them..
Looking for a source of vintage style vest / singlet...(not the string variety)
Pike Bros were selling some nice ones but this years version are hideous IMHO with a deep square neckline making them like something a circus strongman would wear on a bad night.
6 hour round trip drive wise yesterday & Byson really seem to know their stuff, having alterations on 3 jackets. I asked about stitch holes & this is what was said:
“Not easy. It is SOMETIMES possible to fill the holes with a specialist heat cured filler & then carefully re-colour but if the...
Just got into Selvedge in the last five years or so, but haven’t spent more than £150 on a pair of jeans. £50 on a selvedge workwear denim jacket in a sale. About to send my first ever pair off to a ‘denim doctor’ for repairs..those pants have some wear on them :-)
