Just started watching the 2017 French series Missions. It is about a European space mission to Mars. The team, however, get beaten to the planet by a faster NASA mission, financed by a dying billionaire. Once the Europeans get to Mars, now on a rescue mission, and after the 'death' of their...
Never heard of the players above, but I still have my first ever baseball card though the rest of the card collection was disposed of decades ago. It is a 3-D Super Stars Anthony Darrin Horton card from 1969 / 70. Came out of a cereal box and, yeah, I never heard of him either! Guess I was about...
Talking of Stephen King.....
Just watched the 2004 movie Secret Window starring Johnny Depp as a New York writer who murders his wife and her lover. He buries their bodies in the back yard and plants a small corn field over their bodies. Local sheriff knows that he did the crime but can't prove...
Thank goodness I was taught in the DoDDS system; totally secular, great teachers who wanted to teach kids and no corporal punishment whatsoever. The education that I received largely made the person that I am today.
Got suspended once in all that time, for a day or so. Otherwise, just a locker...

I'm lucky that I have a small study with a cosy chair to read in. Would never even think about reading while on the can! Just how constipated are you folk? Maybe time to see your MDs! :)
Yes, a bit ad heavy. (why did I get picked for a bridal jewellery ad? :) ) Having said that, I don't mind the ads really.
Otherwise, I don't have a real problem with the new look, though I did turn it back to the dark background mode as the light background is, well, a bit too bright for me.
Watching some vintage Poirot. I never tire of watching David Suchet as the little Belgian detective. The episode, one of the last, is rather sad and poignant as Suchet plays him as a fragile old man coming to terms with his mortality.
Yes, I watched this show in the 1970s. Cousteau, and his team, were heroes to me as they explored sunken wrecks and swam with sharks. It was all so fascinating for a boy who was born, and lived, hundreds of miles from the sea. All those fish and, especially, dolphins and whales.
We lived in...
