Not the best quality photos, but I captured the rising moon last night (one day before full moon).

That German steel cleaver is good quality. My mom still has a kitchen set of knifes by this same company that she bought when we lived in Germany forty years ago and she still uses some of them nearly every day. Forty years down the line and they're just like new. I found this old Art Nouveau...

    My grandfather's knife.

Nice knife. It looks to me like an vintage Boy Scout camp knife. We had similar ones when I was a scout in the 1970s. Maybe a 1940s / 50s Western make? Should be marked on the top of the blade, just by the cross guard (try wiping the blade with oil). The sheath looks like it originally belongs...

    The wrist watch.

Das ist sehr interessant....... Never weighed my two current everyday watches so following your lead I have now done so. They're heavier than your preferred benchmark: - Omega Speedmaster 141.1g - Seiko Kinetic 134.7g I've had the Omega for 11 years and the Seiko closer to twenty years, so I...

Right, I gotcha. I note that your watch is actually different to mine in a couple of ways besides the size: the small dials are in different positions and there are minute numbers on the face.

Nice watches. I also have a Omega Speedmaster which I've had for a decade. Just a question, what do you mean by 'reduced'?

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Actually, this look goes way back. Many men in the 'Fedora Era' wore that style, one just has to look at the mugshots of the 20s - 40s to see some pretty good examples of this style. They also show that the criminals of that by-gone age dressed pretty smart compared to their modern counterparts.

You know you are getting old when:

Yeah, guess the 80s revival is coming to an end. Actually noticed that recently as my favorite current TV show, Young Sheldon, is set in 1989!

You know you are getting old when:

One thing that will make me feel that I'm getting older is when the media nostalgia train reaches the 1990s. When I was in my 20s / 30s the media was all about reminiscing about the 1950s and, especially, the 1960s. In my 40s it seemed like the 1970s were being rehashed. Now, as the senior...

What Jacket Are You Wearing Today?

Great outfit, Michael A (as always). I like that jacket, especially those wing tips. Never liked leather jackets that long in my younger days, but now that I'm older (not necessarily wiser though) I appreciate 'em more and can see myself getting something similar. Can I also ask, what pants are...

    Which is your favorite G-1?

Well, it is comfortable for sure. Doesn't squeak like seagulls but maybe more like a nest of mice; that is it does squeak a little bit.

Cool with light rain here today, perfect for wearing my 'new' G1 (a 1982 Brill Bros).

    Which is your favorite G-1?

I recently bought my second USN G1 jacket, this time a 1982 dated Brill Brothers one. It has some quality control issues compared to my Star 1968 jacket, such as the two bottom leather zipper panels being a slightly uneven length. The original zipper is still there and the retainer box is marked...
