Dziekuje!
I have been informed that such is now officially called “Shacket”.
Things you didn’t want to know. I can gladly report that at least nobody had called it a “Single Rider” yet.
Soooooo!
After realising via the IH “Pale Rider” that I can indeed be a “Leather Shirt Guy”, I took the plunge on this marvellous indigo Y2 x The Shop Vancouver “shirt”.
TJ was a pleasure start to finish, not least in the quest of getting the fit right form the outset , as I just couldn’t face...
I could not say it better.
My only addition would be: the higher the shaft, the more trouble to get them on/off (unless, of course, they are zippered all the way down).
So the ”Thunderbolt” would be a Scandinavian special, right ?! :)
There are similarities to the “Memphis” which seems to be the only jacket in LLs current lineup with epaulettes. Obviously this has a proper belt, not just the loops of your jacket.
Antiquarian interests aside, it IS a great jacket!
Fun review, Ivan. Thanks a lot!
Leather blazers are about as difficult a topic as can be. It’s a garment that seems to scream IRONY at max volume, yet I am absolutely with you: if you want to go “ironic” goto Berlin, dress up as a cosplay lumberjack and get on everybody’s nerves.
Seeing the...
What a great find! Spectacular price too!
I was always maintaining that LL made the “perfect” Cross-Zip (tongue in cheek, of course). My new-ish Schott 613SH gave me cause to reconsider, but this one sure is up there as contender…
You may want to clarify your request:
Your are asking about a “slim fitting” Cafe Racer, yet the Highwayman is neither slim fitting nor a Cafe Racer.
The Schott IS a CR, but I wouldn’t call it slim fitting.
The “slimmest” fitting CR I know of would be the Aero Board Racer. the Real McCoys...
Cool piece!
Intel, please: where did you pick that up? I don’t see the Thunderbolt in the current line up at LL, yet it looks brandnew. What wizardry is this?
I just noticed something odd. The numbers between sizes “L” and “XL” are excessively spaced: chest 23 vs. 25”; length 26,5 vs. 28”.
If this is indeed correct you are out of luck if you’re just past the “L” measurements, or you end up looking like the SCHOTT model.
If you nail the fit like...
This looks great on you!
I stand corrected: you are neither a twenty-something with a skinny model physique, nor is the jacket anywhere near too long.
At size medium, shoulders are quoted at 17,5”. Do you like how the jacket fits, or does it seem to be overly restrictive in the upper body?
Apologies, I have only now read the original post thoroughly: you have already tracked down the Addict AD 01.
This is basically a repro of the LL „Corsair“ without the chest patch and in a rather nicer leather than the original (unless you invest in the rather pricey veg tan horse/cow hides...
Looking at the sample picture, I was thinking about Aero 59‘er Highwayman (specced with normal cuffs).
The Corsiar from Lewis Leathers has been mentioned (one of my personal faves for a very reduced and clean look), but I am afraid they won’t chance the zip sleeves.
Week 15
Have been on holiday etc, so only sporadic wear for the last weeks. Still, the leather is ever-changing and - at least to my lovers-eye - only gets better with time.
Cold and windy today, so I’m layering with a long-sleeve. Still a bit chilly, so I may want to switch to a proper jacket...
There you go: to each their own!
I would love to see some fit pictures, should you find the time.
Following the great review from @Aloysius, I picket up the 613SH which ticks all the boxes for me after previous disappointments with Perfectos. Not boxy at all, avoiding the “fake beer-belly“...
Thanks for sharing the photos/links.
IMO, even Schott themselves cannot make the jacket look good on their own model. All subjective, of course, but that´s a fit, I just wouldn´t feel comfortable with.
I had one of the "special edition" pre-distressed Perfectos ca. 10 years ago, and the fit...
