Our Japanese friends are very dedicated to very cool clothes. They make some brilliant (if frustratingly difficult to buy) stuff.
Unfortunately, in pushing the boundaries, they also turn out a few disasters.
Hence, this jacket.....
Personal choice, obviously. But 501's have rarely been straight. Apart from perhaps a pair of 1955's, they are all pretty tapered. If you like 'em (and lots do) then fair enough - but they ain't straight.
THESE are straight:
I was lucky enough to have been around in the 60's when new...
Very nice jacket, Schitz. Congrats
"Probably" not wear crocs? That needs to be a "definitely never", mate. And yes, some jeans with non-skinny legs would help the look:D;)
It is interesting that this thread started by asking for advice from UK FLers, and yet the replies are now being questioned.
If your nephew is the cool dresser that you believe him to be, then he shouldn't need anyone's advice on what to wear. So why ask on here?
Re the trip, I think you might...
An intrinsic aspect of the "shawl collar jacket" - or whatever else you wanna call it - is the curved edge to the hem panel.
It starts high, at the side, goes down, and then curves up to meet the two button closing.
Only two guys seem to have got this right, as far as I can see - Himel & Aero...

I would have said that in the opening post, but get slightly tired of being...
Just got this in my email today, for anyone pining for one of these:D;)

BTW - For anyone wanting to start their own album, the FAQ on how to do this is wrong. There is NOT a link in your User Control Panel, so don't go looking for it.
Here's how you do it.....
1. In the top line links, click on "Community" and then, on the drop-down, on "Albums"
2. The...
A lot of the recent swathe of Duck jackets have been aimed at the denim collectors' market, rather than the regular workwear segment.
Given that some of the very first jackets made by Levi Strauss, back in the 1800's, were Duck rather than Denim, then this is suddenly the "must have" jean...
Yup. We've discussed this in depth elsewhere on here.
Zips began to be used on jackets at the very end of the 20's, and became much more common in the 30's.
The first zips were relatively short in length - so the first thing would have been zip closure on a top (cigarette) pocket on an...
